newbie here

Hi all!

I usually lurk more on the MM board but I recently found out I am (most likely??) pregnant so I thought I would try this board out. Haven't told anybody but H about the news yet so I'm feeling a little lonely in my thoughts! I'm pretty stressed out because I just accepted a new job last week and gave my notice at my current job yesterday. Feel bad about starting a new position while pregnant. Anyways...I have a couple questions:

1) When did you all start telling people about the news? H really wants to tell his brother but I want to wait a little bit. We just found out and I'm only about 4 weeks along.

2) Is it normal for your OB/GYN to not want to see you until you are 8 weeks? I tried to make an appointment to confirm my pregnancy and they didn't want to make an appt until 9/30. FTR, I've taken 3 tests, all positive.

Thanks all!
Anniversary

Congratulations on your happy news!  Many of the women on this board are still trying to get pregnant so you may receive better advice about your pregnancy on the Getting Pregnant Moms board which is linked at the top of this board.

As for your questions, I've been pregnant once but lost that pregnancy early on, so we hadn't really told anyone except for our best friends who knew we were going through fertility treatments; they knew the day we found out which was 4 weeks. If we are lucky enough to get pregnant again then I think we'll hold off until we're much further along to tell anyone.

I think it is pretty standard for ob/gyn's to not want to see you until you are about 8 weeks if you've had no complications in the past.

  • Oops! I wasn't sure exactly which board to post on but that makes sense. I thought GP moms might be for women that are pregnant AND are already moms. Thanks for the info and good luck!
