rec your cookware

My pots and pans are getting nasty looking. They are just over 3 years old. I am looking to get new ones, but want them to last
longer. What type do you use? Has anyone had luck with the ceramic kind? I want to try those out. Thanks!

  • I have not tried the ceramic kind, but I love my all-clad. But I know that might be a bit out of your price range. I've heard tramotina is a really good value brand - will last and cook really well, but isn't expensive.

  • I've been wanting a nice cookware set too. I've been eyeing these:

Super expensive, but they look amazing.

  • We got an awesome set of Calphalon stainless steel pots and pans for our wedding. They are still in great condition. I use them pretty much every time I cook. But they are more expensive. Maybe something to save for?

  • Hmmm... yeah, I was thinking of something between $50 and $80. I am even willing to have them be part of a Christmas /Anniversary present for me. I still have to talk to A about it. I don't get the BB&B coupons anymore :(

We use Oneida stainless steel Gourmet Pro.  We like it because its easy to clean if anything sticks on it, we are able to get it off.  It can go in the oven or the stove.  The rubber handles are nice so you don't burn your hand.  They are also dishwasher safe. I think you can go look at them at Macy's.  We got ours online because we had a 20% off coupon, free shipping, and ebates gave me money back.

we use bar mans keep to clean them if something gets burnt on.

    I think I paid $119.

Here is the amazon link because they have good pictures.

The Calphalon set may be a little pricey, but look at it this way.  Properly taken care of they'll probably outlive you.  Cookware is sadly one of those you get what you pay for thing.  I bought the cheap sets in college and don't have any of them anymore because they just don't last.
