Update on C's friend

Remember my post in last weeks Manic Monday about Chase's friend? Well thankfully he did not have an allergic reaction to anything he ate. He was taken to the ER and diagnosed with Scarlett Fever! He had strep throat the week before and that triggered it. I spoke to his mother Monday night when she called to talk about what he could have possibley gotten into and she never mentioned him being sick the week before. He went to school every day. Hw do you send your child away with a family after hes had strep that week?

Along with the fact that my pregnant SIL was there in that tiny house all weekend as well? What if she had gotten sick? I dont think I would ever be able to forgive myself if something happened to her because of that.

Re: Update on C's friend

  • Did she know he had step?? A is always deathly sick when he has it, so I always get it treated right away. Isn't scarlet fever also caused from not treating the strep, or the antibiotics not being strong enough? And if my kid had a weird rash after having it I wouldn't assume it was something he ate, the doctors always tell you to keep an eye out for a rash. Soo many questions lol. I think she knew he was sick, but didn't take him to the doctor especially if he was at school all week. Poor kid, and poor you guys.

  • Yeah I would totally believe that one. But in her defense she is still trying to get a handle on life after her boyfriend/childrens father passed away in the  early summer, totally unexpectedly leaving her alone with 6 kids, one of them under a year old. No money, no job, no car.
  • Omg that's horrible.

  • I did not realize scarlet fever was still a thing.

I'm glad you guys didn't get sick!
  • Ugh while she had a lot going on... Wow, this is bad. I'm glad no one else got sick!

  • What a horrible situation for her. I've a few kids who have been treated for strep and it still turn into scarlet fever. Sucks. Glad you guys didn't get sick.
