I finished The Secret Place last night and if you've been reading the Dublin Murder Squad books, you'll love this. If you haven't, read them!
I love her "brand" of mystery- I think that it is fresh and so fun to read. This one takes place at a boarding school which: extra fun!
Frank Mackey's daughter is a main character in this book and in the end, we get some Mackey too. The main detective is Stephen, who was a minor-ish character in Faithful Place. Because the entire book takes place in 1 day, I didn't feel like we really got Stephen's entire life story like we did for some of the previous detectives in the series, but I ended up really feeling connected to him.
All this to say: really good stuff, great mystery, a teeny bit of paranormal this time which made it super creepy for me. If you've liked her other books, get this!
