Anyone care to discuss?  I finished the book yesterday and while I didn't give a good rating, 2 stars, I still feel like there's a lot I want to talk about.

    I've only watched the show.  From what I hear, it's very different from the book.

    I've only watched the first 7 or 8 episodes so far, but you're right, it's very different.  I don't think the book is particularly funny, while the show definitely is.

    I rated it low too.  A lot of the book I was bored with or I wanted to know more about the characters.  I enjoyed the show so much more because there's more character development.  The book felt so flat.

    I agree with @ThisModernLove that it just fell flat. Nearing the end of the book there was so much discussion about her personal growth.  While I think that's important, she just seemed so smug and superior.  It was a little off-putting.

    I will say that not loving the book hasn't changed how I feel about the show.  Some of the characters are the same, and some of the things that happen happen to different characters.  The show is SO MUCH BETTER.

    Still, I wouldn't bother reading it, it wasn't that good.
