Teachers, I salute you

I started work this month in an elementary school library and yesterday was the first day of check out.  Oh my god.  I felt like I was going through five children hurricanes, 20 minutes at a time.

I cannot imagine having to wrangle and educate 25 kids at a time, all day, every day.  I would be on the verge of hysterical laughter by the end of the first week.

You are awesome.

Re: Teachers, I salute you

  • Well, bless your soul for keeping those 600+ kids entertained day in and day out. You have to learn way more names than I do! :)

  • LOL I love your description as "children hurricanes." That pretty much sums it up. I'm a music teacher and I have 49 classes this year (teaching Pre-K through 5) so it's insane the amount of children I see every week. I respect the classroom teachers who have to put up with the same kids all day though. If I had to do that I would go nuts.

In all seriousness, I love my job and the grade I teach (8th). The kids are awesome, even when they're "hurricanes."

  • I work in a middle school but I'm not a teacher. I spend "some" time in classrooms but thankfully get to leave the room as soon as I fix the technology. I tell the teachers all the time, "I don't know how you do it all day every day".
