NBR: Recommend your phone case

I just got a new phone and I need a new case.  It's an iPhone 5c, and it's slippery.  I know I'm going to drop it, so I want a case for it.  I don't need anything high impact since it's just me using the phone, and I want something unique.  I'm also debating between a wallet style case vs. one that just snaps onto the back of it. I am considering this, but I'm having a hard time committing...I feel like there may be something else out there that I will prefer more.

Can anyone make recommendations?  Style?  Wallet vs. snap on? $20 is about as high as I'm willing to go.

Re: NBR: Recommend your phone case

  • I like the Hogwarts one but for the amount of times I'm checking my phone every day, the wallet style would drive me crazy - having to constantly open the flap.  Nope nope nope.

I have a iFrogz one for my iPhone 5.  It's two pieces which I like because it comes off easier (I need to take the case off to put it in my running arm band).  It's similar to this:

It's not unique, though.  If you could find a Marauder's Map snap on case...score!

Just so you know (for the next time you need an armband), tune belt now makes arm bands that fit phones & their cases. I have an OtterBox case & I don't have to take it off everytime I go for a run. :)

  • I have a speck case.  It's not cute at all, but I'm terrible about dropping it, letting George and Gemma hold it, using it while I'm playing with the dogs, etc, so I need something sturdy.

  • Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

  • I use this Otter Box. While I'd love to get something cute, I'm really rough with my phones so I need something really sturdy.

  • I have this one for my 5S.

I like silicone cases because I have a very loose grip when I hold my phone, so it keeps it from slipping out of my hand.

Not sure if that one is available for the 5C, but DealExtreme has tons of cases. I usually just order a few and pick whichever one I like best.

I was looking at something like this for a 5c that's a cutout so you can see the blue color of the phone.  It looks pretty but I'm worried the silicone will get gross after a while.

@packfan20, that's my same concern.  The opening and closing...would it irritate me?  Maybe. I'm not sure.

  • They do make this one, but one of my thoughts on having a wallet case is that it would protect the front.

  • I was worried about the white silicone (my last iPhone case was light blue silicone), but it's actually been fine. It does get a little gross on the inside once in a while (not sure how stuff gets in there), but it's easy to rinse the cover and wipe down the phone.
