What did you do with the cards from the wedding, bridal shower, if you had one, baby shower? I still have all of them and H always makes fun of me and tells me that I'm a hoarded. I am starting to declutter to prepare for the move and I want to get rid of as much unnecessary stuff as possible.
Re: Cards
This. I put my bridal shower and wedding cards in a box with other wedding memos in the basement. Right now I have my baby shower cards in a drawer, but I got a card box to put them in and will add other things I don't wanna throw away.
@willyh19 - I'm so sorry I'd be so upset too. I try to keep all cards too, because you don't know when it'll be the last one.
I may just save the ones from our parents and grandparents and get rid of the rest. Like @pockysquirrel said, too much clutter.
I have a box for each occaision. I am kind of a hoarder (not like on the show or like DH's dad...no newspaper walls here!) So about 5 years ago I started a system. I get a box a year (at like michaels or something so they're pretty! they're 3-4 $) and I leave it on my dresser and put all the random stuff in it I want to keep, cards, ticket stubs, dried flowers, mini golf scores etc. I get an extra one for momentous occaisions that are bigger. I have one for our engagement, our wedding day, and for this pregnancy. It works pretty well, and I don't feel too bad b/c I just put them in the basement closet and they don't take up that much room. Since most aren't full, I'll probably consolidate the regular yearly ones every 5 years or something?
ETA- my grandma still has the ones from her baby shower in 1949, and from when she had my mom in 1955, and they are amazing and I LOVE THEM. She's not even that sentimental, so it was pretty cool when we found them!
