Need More Interview Vibes
I have another job interview tomorrow! It's basically my dream job! Unfortunately, it's only a short term fellowship (around 9-12 months) but it's exactly what I want to do and I'll be able to meet so many people and gain real world experience which will help me to find a permanent job once the fellowship ends. It's with an organization that I have done a bunch of things with in the past. My picture is on their website and in a bunch of their online webinars, haha! I know the person who had the fellowship last year as well as 2 of the 3 people that I'm interviewing with (the 3rd I've emailed a few times in the past).
I don't want to be arrogant, but I feel that, given my record with the organization, this fellowship should be earmarked for me. I don't know if they're interviewing others, but I'm really hoping that the job is mine. I'd appreciate any and all good vibes that you can send : )
An update on the interview I had a few weeks ago: I haven't heard anything. I know that the next step was another interview with the person I'd be directly reporting to. I haven't been contacted for another interview and none of my references have said that they've been contacted. Those 2 things would have been a sign that I'm a top candidate. I'm expecting my thanks but no thanks email any time now. I can't be upset because I did everything I could in that interview. It comes down to a lack of experience outside of my Ph.D., and there's nothing I can do about that until someone gives me a chance to get experience.
