Re: Crock Pot Recipes
Ingredients: a nice pork roast (1-3lbs), a can of soda, and one large onion
Directions: sliced onion and place in the bottom of your crock pot. Place pork roast on top of the onion, pour soda over roast. I like to use root beer but I've also used ginger ale. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Drain liquid and shred roast. Can eat as is or add your favorite BBQ sauce.
Pork Chops with Gravy
Ingredients: 4 pork chops, 2 cans cream of mushroom soup, 2 cups milk, 2-3 tsp soy sauce, 1 Tble worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
Directions: Lightly brown the pork chops in a skillet or use leftover grilled chops. coat the bottom of the crock pot with some cooking spray and place the pork chops in the crock pot. I slightly over lap them so the gravy goes everywhere. In a bowl combine the remaining ingredients. I fill the cream of mushroom cans with milk. Pour gravy mix over chops and cook on low for 6 hours. Serve with a side of rice or whatever carb you desire.
Pot Roast
Ingredients: pot roast, 1 onion sliced, carrots, potatoes, 1 package lipton onion soup mix, 1 can cream of chicken soup, teriaki sauce, pepper
Directions: put roast, onion, pepper and lipton soup mix in crock pot on high for 30 min, add cream of chicken soup, teriaki sauce, carrots, and potatoes and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
This is my MIL's recipe from her MIL. She waits to add the potatoes until closer to the end. And the last time I made this I just dumped everything in at the beginning. Turns out well no matter how you do it.
Chili
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef, 1 onion diced, 1 green pepper diced, 1 14 oz can rotel, 2 8oz cans tomato sauce, 2 Tbl cumin, 2 Tbl chili powder, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 2 14oz cans kidney beans rinsed, 1 cup water, (optional: 1 Tbl jalapenos finely chopped)
Directions: Brown ground beef with onions and peppers. Drain the grease and in crockpot add meat mixture, tomato sauce, rotel, seasonings, and water. Cook on low for 2 hours. Add beans and cook on low for 4 hours. You can probably add the beans earlier if you will be gone all day. I haven't tried that but I'm sure it would work.
You can also make this on the stove in a stock pot. Just bring the tomato meat mix to a boil and add the beans. Then simmer on the stove for 1-2 hours. But this always tastes that best with a longer cooking time. And this isn't too spicy. The original recipe I found had double the cayenne. I usually leave the jalapeno out as well.
I will get the cabbage rolls, sloppy joes and stroganoff posted in a bit.
Ingredients:
Directions:
Brown ground beef, garlic, and onion in a very large skillet, and drain. Combine remaining ingredients in a sprayed 5 quart slow cooker, and stir in meat mixture. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours.
