Re: Monday Accountability Post

  • 1. $33 on gas and that's it!!

    2. We put $1,000 towards our mortgage principle account, and $300 aside for a plumbing job we need to have done next week (probably won't even cost that much)

    3. Can't wait for Blacklist tonight!, TrueTori 2, Couples Therapy, Kendra, Kourtney/Kloe take the Hamptons, Chicago Fire. Still watching Teen Mom 2, Long Island Medium, and Little People Big World. Don't laugh

  • 1.  $50 out with friends (budgeted), $10 for DD breakfasts on my way to work (not budgeted-overslept), $60 for mandatory work event for H and myself (budgeted), $15 gas (not budgeted-went over).  In the big purchase category, we also just spent a budgeted $650 on our winter meat CSA which H is over the moon excited about.  This will decrease our grocery expenses going forward.

    2.  Not really.  I'll make a small car overpayment on payday tomorrow, but October is expense-heavy for us.  I did just do my life insurance physical, and H submitted his paperwork, so the ball is rolling there.

    3.  I love Dr. Who (started late summer, technically), and am excited for the return of The Mindy Project, New Girl, Parks and Rec, and especially Parts Unknown (which I think returns in winter)

    1. How MM was your weekend?
Good!  Paid cash for everything using mad money.  We spent $70 on groceries, which was awesome.  We're getting much better at limiting our overages in groceries.  We also went $10 over on gas for the month's budget by spending another $30 on gas this week.  I raised next month's budget for gas and took some money away from credit card payments for this month to even out the overage. My budgeting is still a work in progress.

    2. Any progress towards goals?
Yes!  Paid $111 to credit cards this week, which is great for us.  We'll finish off the budgeted payments this Friday! :)

    3. What fall TV shows will be watching?
I'm dying for Parenthood to come back.  I'm so sad it's the last season!

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Pretty good- groceries ($112), clothes for the girls ($34), dinner with DH's parents ($50), Gas ($50)

    2. Any progress towards goals? We decided not to get the super expensive rug- we'll keep looking for now.. it was tough to justify $2K on a rug for our bedroom. We did put 1 coat of paint on our bedroom walls- looks really nice. We're hoping to get the rugs picked out before we order a new mattress so that we can take everything out of the room, steam clean the floors, and set the new bed frame up. May be a few weeks out.

    3. What fall TV shows will be watching? Oh geez- not much... DH's parents record Boardwalk for us, so we're watching that.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Great!  Friday was $45 on groceries and $115 for dog grooming (all budgeted).  That was it.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Not really, however we have been able to cash flow the major repair to H's car and a few other things that came up.  We will likely be able to put some in at the end of the month though.

    3. What fall TV shows will be watching?  None.  We got rid of cable/satellite.

    1. How MM was your weekend? It wasn't great, but not terrible either. $25 for lunch with my cousin, $20 at Ikea for a shoe rack, $5 for froyo (my weakness), $30 for a dinner with H before he went to work Saturday night, and $35 for gas.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Yes! Our non MM goal of getting new carpet in the basement has been officially completed, hence the need for the shoe rack. That's our main entrance. And I also starting an alotment of $100/pay check to go into savings. It's not much but it's more than I've been doing so I feel really good about it. H is about to start doing the same too!

    3. What fall TV shows will be watching? I watch a bunch of trashy shows like Teen Mom, Law & Order SVU, etc. I just started watching Red Band Society and I love it already! I can't wait to watch Gotham too, I'm really hoping that's another good one.

    ETA frozen yogurt. YUM.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? $18 on curtain rods and two new curtains to replace some ugly closet doors in our entryway. Thank heavens for clearance at target and Kohl's Cash!

    2. Any progress towards goals? $46 towards student loans this week which means $4,522 to go!

    3. What fall TV shows will be watching? Once Upon a Time. I was invited to have a Sunday girls night planned around it and I can't wait for it to all get started! Other than that I don't have cable so nothing.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  Not too bad, we treated my in State family and MIL/ SIL to lunch at Red Robin, that was $130 including tip.  Other than that we paid cash for everything.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  Put $130 towards my credit card.  I am hoping to have it paid off in November at the latest.

    3. What fall TV shows will be watching?  Big Bang and Agents of Shield are the two biggies that I like to watch.  We DVR a bunch of others but a lot of the shows that MW and I like got cancelled or ended last year.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?
