weekly workouts - You're all in trouble

I'm posting this a day early because no one commented last week.  I'm holding you all accountable this week!

  • I got a great HIIT workout in on Thursday. I also got two long walks in last week. Now that the weather is cooling down, I'm hoping for more evening walks with H on the nights he is home. I am aiming for 4 this week of at least 3 miles each.

  • Lol!  Last week was ok actually, I even worked out on Saturday.  I just forgot to post!

    Started the week off right with a nice bike ride last night.  So sore today.

  • I've been injured...again! Last week, I picked up a box that was a lot heavier than it looked. I totally wasn't prepared for it and hurt my lower back : (

    I did walk a ton last Wednesday, probably about 3-4 miles.

    I did a 30 DS Level 1 workout yesterday. I'm trying to get back on track, but my back it still sore, so I'm taking it easy.

  • We started walking the block at night! It's really hard with my incision (I have to wear my girdle, it's so sexy) but I know it'll make me feel myself sooner.

  • @mana8503 I started walking a few days after I gave birth also.  It made me feel so much better.  I am almost back at pre-pregnancy weight and I think a lot of that is from walking so soon.
  • I've been terrible!  I have no energy to do anything more than I have to.  Although, we did walk a TON in New Orleans.  There was one day when I was just done and felt like I was going to collapse at any moment.  Confession - I actually almost started crying because I just didn't want to walk anymore.  Pregnancy hormones suck!

  • @sjs1013 - we actually started in the hospital. Once I got unteethered from the bed we started walking the halls. L&d was a big circle. So we started with 1 lap after meals and got up to 3-4 laps 3-4 times a day. I think that's why I feel better a week after c section than most. My block hurts me a little because of the hill, but it's doable.

  • I forgot to add that yesterday I downloaded the free Jillian Michaels app for my iPhone. There's a journal where you can log your exercise and food intake, you can listen to Jillian Podcasts, read articles, and a bunch of other things (like exercises, etc. but you have to pay for those). I've been using it for 2 days, so far I highly recommend.

    I'm trying to be more mindful of what I eat, so the food tracker is really helping. I eat really healthy stuff, but I know I eat way too many carbs (the app confirmed this!)

    Also, I got my new iPhone 6 on Fri. I've been loving the new Health app and I've been obsessed with the pedometer on it : )

  • @brainybrunette I want an iPhone 6!  I got my 5S right after Christmas and I hate it.  H is up for an upgrade and I want to steal his upgrade to get one and give him mine, but I think he wants to go Android.
  • I was running around all weekend.  I have the last show of the year this weekend.  I only made it down for Sunday but I was on my feet the entire morning.  Definitely got some exercise!  Food, I've been much better on weekends.  Weekdays, I keep forgetting to pack lunches so that complicates things.

  • @sjs1013 I'm loving the 6! I had a 5 for 2 years, and in the last few months the battery life had been terrible so it was definitely time for a new one. H bought the 6+, but that was just way too big for my little hands so I went with the 6. We're Apple people and it's nice that all of our tech products work together seamlessly so Android just wouldn't work for us.

  • @brainybrunette We're Apple people too, although H married into it.  He had an old hand-me-down PC that barely worked before we moved in together.  I hope he goes Apple.  It will be so much easier that way.  The 6+ looks huge, I would get the 6 also.
  • Haven't gotten too much exercise in because of work. Trying to watch what I'm eating to make up for it though.
    Was very proud of myself last night. Went grocery shopping with H and opted on Italian ice instead of my usual pint of Ben and Jerry's.

  • I keep forgetting to post. I had my usual training sessions sat/sun, did a 21 day fix DVD at home on tues, trainer wed and since I'm off today and tomorrow I'll work out to a DVD during DD's nap time. I've stopped the night time snacking and I think bc I finally broke out of eating the Same thing every day that helped. I do eat dinner pretty early since I'm up at 5 and breakfast is at 7, I need to search for some healthy nighttime go to snacks.

  • Finally went to gym on Friday!!  All I did was the elliptical at a very slow speed for 30 minutes.  It's so different than what I'm used to, but it's all I feel comfortable doing right now.  I also cramped up a little after, so I don't think I'll be doing much more.

    Going to yoga today at lunch and I'm really hoping I like it.
