Happy first full day of fall!!

Do you do any apple or pumpkins picking?

Bonus question: do you think it's bad that I put my Halloween minions out on my desk already?

Re: QOTD 9/23

  • When we lived in Upstate NY, we used to go apple picking every year. We need to find a place here, but MD just isn't apple country like NY is.

Now that it's officially Fall, I feel that Halloween decorations are more acceptable ; )

  • We just went to the orchard Saturday!  We bought apples, pumpkins, tomatoes (Indiana tomatoes are amazing), apple butter, popcorn, and decorative gourds.  We didn't pick the apples ourselves because it was so crowded, but we'll definitely go back and do that.

I used to decorate for Halloween on September 15, so no, I don't think it's bad :)
    image
  • I don't do either. Can't wait to decorate though!!

I don't think it's bad that you have your minions out! :)

    image
  • We just take the girls to a pumpkin patch and let them pick out some pumpkins.

I don't think it's too early for your Halloween minions.  I want pics though!

I used to go apple picking as a kid, but haven't as an adult.  Maybe next year.  The orchard by my house has apple wine tasting.  I think I'll check that out once i can indulge again.

Also I love Halloween, the sooner you decorate the better!

  • We are going apple picking with some friends in a few weeks.

@brainybrunette there is a farm not too far from you in Woodbine, MD if you are wanting to go. We have friends who are having their sons birthday party there.

I haven't been pumpkin picking since I was a kid.

  • Do you do any apple or pumpkins picking? We pick apples every year and now with DD we will definitely pick pumpkins. We usually go apple picking and then head over to the annual festival that is all about apples

Bonus question: do you think it's bad that I put my Halloween minions out on my desk already?--no, confession: i watched Despicable Me for the first time over the summer, loved it, I got to see it in 3D=)

  • I put all my fall stuff out like 2 weeks ago even though it was 90 degrees. I've had my pumpkin scented candles going ever since it was cool enough to open the windows (which normally would be at about 75 degrees...but I'm so hot all the time I waited 'til 70...Our AC bill was ridiculous, oh well!

I'm ready for fall! We usually do apple picking, I've never actually been pumpkin picking, we usually just go to the farm and pick them out there (like not in the middle of a field still attached).

  • I LOVE Fall!  I am so excited for sweater weather!!!!!

We usually go apple picking, but I don't want to bring O to the orchard, so we may skip this year.  I do love apples, but I usually go to get a lot of fresh apples so my mom will make pie.  She makes a delicious apple pie.  I also go for the Apple Cider doughnuts.  There is a local store that sells them, so I might just go there for my fix this year and I don't mind bringing O there.

We don't usually go pumpkin picking.  We went 2 years ago because a friend had a Groupon and it was cheap.  Last year we went and it was so expensive.  The pumpkins H and I picked would have been close to $30 each.  The local store that sells Cider doughnuts usually has pumpkins 3 for $15.  I'll go there.

@minionlover it is not too early for Halloween decorations.  I've seen candy in the stores since early August.  I want to buy pumpkins and mums for the front of our house for the Fall/Halloween even though we aren't living there yet.

We should be moving in 2-3 weeks, finally!!!!!!!  We need to be in a settled before 10/18.  That is O's Baptism and we are having people at the house after.
  • Yes pumpkin picking, not yet for apples. There's an place 10 mins away I want to take E next year!

I've never been apple picking before but it's something I've always wanted to do. For the last 2 years, we've gone to a pumpkin patch with H's cousin, her girls, & my niece to let them pick out pumpkins and gourds to decorate with. I'm excited to do that again this year with Wren! :)

And I don't think it's too early to have Halloween decorations out already. I'm probably going to put up our Halloween wreath this weekend.

  • I went apple picking as a kid but we have yet to find an orchard near us now.  We picked pumpkins a couple years ago and will likely go again if we have time.  But the pumpkin farm we went to closed down so now we need a new place!

No, it is not bad that you put out your decor already:)

  • I've never been apple picking, although we have a friend who wants to go one weekend! I went to a pumpkin patch once with my special ed students and they got to pick pumpkins.

Go for the decorations! If I had any, I'd put them out!

  • I decorated my front deck already!  Zombie gnome has been out since summer and I'm going to get a pumpkin closer to October.  Is it bad that I bought that mum to coordinate with my front door colour?

  • I go almost every year apple picking and pumpkin picking! Can't wait to take T in a few weeks. My friends mom made him a pumpkin hat and I want to get him an apple hat as well :-)
