I don't have time to update completely right now, but today was our WTF appointment at the RE. Tom and I are talking things through after today's appointment. I'll update better when we've made a decision. A lot of ideas and options were presented to us.

Question, though. I don't know if anyone here was offered it, but one of the options thrown at us today is CCS with IVF. Anyone given this option? Anyone take it, not take it? Why or why not?

    Hey island- we were offered for our IVF cycle, but after normal RPL and karyotyping, the RE recommended we try a blast transfer and see if our issues have just been bad luck. Based on his rec and our testing, we decided to move forward without it. We really went back and forth with it, so I know it is a difficult decision.

    Thanks. The only reason our RE suggested it is because of the Trisomy 13 diagnosis. We have no other risk factors. But the expense is $5000 which is a TON. So we are trying to get as many opinions as possible. The genetic counselor we spoke with didn't think we would need it, but also didn't think we'd really be offered it as an option.

    Cost was a factor for us as well, so we decided to not to either. With only having 2 to transfer, I'm not sure we would have anyways. That being said, if I had the money and a good number of embies, We would probably do it. Wishing you and YH peace as you make a decision on how to move forward. I'll be thinking about you. <3

    After 2 shitty IVF cycles and 1 loss at 6+2 (EDD 11/7/14), DH and I are pursuing DIA.

    We did it. I had to though.... I had to get answers. I'd had one late loss, one early miscarriage, and two failed frozen embryo cycles without the testing.

    I had 10 embryos created and only 3 were normal and made it to Day 5 to freeze (I was a part of a study, so mine had to be frozen). Because of CCS, we know they're genetically perfect. We have two frozen boys and one frozen girl. :)
    IUI - BFP! Baby boy born still - August 2012
    IVF - BFP - miscarriage June 2013
    FET - BFN
    FET - BFN
    Switched clinics
    IVF with PGD - three embryos created, all healthy - July 2014
    FET - transferred two embryos (boy and girl) - Nov 2014 - BFP!
    Baby Boy born July 2015

    Ours would have to be frozen as well while waiting for the results to get back and then do FET.

    DH and I have been discussing it back and forth. The financial part is a big factor, which I so wish wasn't the case. It's also the timeline. We want to move forward as quickly as we can right now and CCS would slow the process down.

    The genetic counselor we spoke with told us (after lots of testing), that what happened with our babies wasn't something we passed to our babies. It was sheer shitty luck. 

    I think we're leaning toward not doing CCS if we move to IVF for now. If we have to circle back to fresh IVF and not FET at some point, we will reevaluate at that time. We also have the option at that point of fighting with our insurance to get the CCS covered. But that would also take up to 45 days. Right now with the expense of it at $5000 that we don't really have, and the delay it would cause to moving forward we're going to step away from it most likely.

    We are so scared of stepping back from this and the worst happening again. But at the same time, we're trying to remain hopeful that it really was just the worst luck in world.
