What are your favourite recipes for using large amounts of apples? We're going apple picking tomorrow, but my husband made a huge apple crisp last weekend so I want to make something different. Ideas?
p.s. I'm not a big fan of pie.
Re: NBR: Best Apple Recipes
Also, with a large amount of apples, I like to dehydrate them. Dried apples are yummy!
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

I also like to use apples in savory recipes. I have a ham, apple & pasta casserole recipe that I love, and ham, apple & swiss biscuit pockets are very common in my house come fall, and author Victoria Abbott just posted a recipe for a pot roasted chicken with apples that looks fantastic at http://www.mysteryloverskitchen.com/
Don’t forget to turn the oven temperature down before baking. I waited about an hour and 20 minutes before cutting mine, and it was still perfectly warm and delicious inside. I’m convinced the waiting made a big difference in the final result.
