AW: Another Reveal

We also went public this weekend after the half marathon race.  My aunt had posted a picture of all of us before the race, and it showed my "running buddy" shirt.  So of course it was questioned.  So we got a picture taken and announced it after the race.

I put this caption on the picture:  "After an unforgettable journey. Derrick and I are happy to announce that we are 5 months pregnant and due in February!
Little munchkin and I even got to run the half marathon together today"

And because I love pictures, here is a picture of my mom, aunt, and I after the race.  My aunt was pretty dang excited that I was able to run it at almost 20 weeks pregnant.

That is so cute!  Also, I'm so jealous you've ran the Princess Half.  That's one of my "someday" races.
Let's just say that I definitely did not go for time.  I ran to the halfway point, then ran/walked to 10.5 miles.  At 10.5 miles I started cramping really bad, so the last 2.5 miles were walked, then jogged across the finish line of course.  It was definitely one of my worst half marathon times, but I was happy to complete it and keep up with the training while being pregnant.  I'm going to stick to 5k's and maybe a 10k for the rest of pregnancy.

  • @brij2006‌ - I've done it three times and my sister and SIL and I will be running it again in 2018 for the 10 year anniversary. We were there for the 5 year so we figure why not go for the 10 too. It is seriously so much fun, but it's another one that you can't really run for a PR because they allow anyone who can complete a 16-min mile to do it. They place the walkers in the late corrals but you still run into slower paced people in the middle and/or front and people sprint between photo ops (which are almost every mile) so you also run into that pace trying to push past you. All in all though, it's an amazingly fun race and the medals are super fun as well. Plus dressing up at Minnie Mouse or Cinderella is the norm so get your tutus ready. :)
  • @brij2006‌ So cute! And love that it was announced this way!! Question- where did you find that shirt?? I have a half coming up at the end of the month as well as a few more races and I think I need this shirt.
  • @jmw928  I actually bought the iron on things from Walmart in the craft section and put it on my favorite running shirt.  You can Google to find some, but I'm too picky about the material of my half marathon shirts so none of them would have worked.
