Happy October Ladies!!!!

In honor of our month, today's QOTD is: what was the best part of your wedding (besides getting married to your DH)?

The food! The food at our wedding was incredible...they gave us some entrees to take home, but I wish I could have a lifetime of leftovers!

I also really loved the time that H and I got to spend together before the ceremony. I found the group pictures to be kind of forced and stressful, but I loved the time H and I spent alone with the photographer before the ceremony.

That my mom was there to share it with us. She had been in and out of the hospital during August and on Labor Day weekend, she went into the hospital with pneumonia and coded while the were intubating her. They did 50 minutes of CPR and were able to revive her. So, I'm thankful she was alive, out of the hospital recovering and able to attend the wedding.

Oh my gosh! How do I not remember you were going through all of this before your wedding? Did you post about it?

I loved our ceremony. One of H's friends was our officiant and he did an amazing job! People still talk about how much they enjoyed our ceremony. Also really loved the cake, food and how all the decor came out.

I loved that so many people came and shared the day with us. We just had so much fun!

I was touched by how many people traveled to see us! We had friends from law school come from Michigan (even some from the UP), DC, NYC, and family come from all over, like OK and VT...it was crazy!

Favorite moment with H was just seeing the look on his face that day-he was so happy & proud.

My favorite part of the day is when we did our pictures together before the ceremony. It was just us and the photographers . It was so great and we felt like movie stars lol. I also remember looking up during dinner at all of our guests and just feeling loved!

Four moments come to mind:
1. H'S face as I came out from behind my hiding canopy and walked down the aisle. Large mix of shock and tears of joy.
2. In between the wedding and the reception, me, H, two of the bridesmaids, one groomsman and the mom of one of the maids went to a local tavern about ten minutes away from the reception hall. It was nice because it was allowed us to eat before the reception and just gave us a chance to relax with friends.
3. One mutual interest of mine and H is the British tv show Doctor Who. H used a prop from the show to "turn the reception lights down" before our first dance.
4. Going to a midnight video game release afterwards...in gown and suit.

You are so sweet! She is doing pretty well. She has some memory loss issues, but otherwise has recovered.

The food!

The fact that I was able to have it at the house I grew up in. It's over 200 years old and has been in our family the whole time. We had it in the clearing and it was absolutely gorgeous.

H's face when he saw me. He teared up. He's such the big tough guy to everyone but me. I see the soft side. Photog caught it. I haven't really showed anyone.

H and I had a Rolls Royce to drive us from the church to the reception. So many people drove by and honked, waved, yelled well wishes. We felt so special. It was also a really nice, quiet moment just be with each other.

Seeing friends from college and childhood at the ceremony
Having our pictures taken at the college where we met and spent so much time together. We even got a shot in the exact spot we met (added because I'm an AW) under the windmill
Hearing from guests that our wedding was so nice and classy
