WIJFLT: Shadow and Bone SP
I know I waited forever to pick this book up, but I really wanted to wait for the entire series to come out. I am kicking myself a bit for waiting, just not very much. I am having issues with open and unfinished series so I think it was worth the wait.
IT WAS SO GOOD! I plan to get right into Siege and Storm today. I listened to the beginning yesterday, but hope to have more time to listen soon. The narrator is great, so I am excited to listen when I get a chance.
I am weird about love triangles sometimes. They can be really lame and overdone, but that definitely wasn't the case with this one. I loved it! I don't know if I'm just really emotional or sappy or what, but the scene with Alina and Mal right before they found the stag made me teary. And I don't believe the Darkling is as bad as Alina thinks he is. I don't believe it!! I feel a little sad for him because I think he really cared about her and I know he is really lonely. I know I could be proven wrong, but this is the hole I will live in until I am convinced otherwise.
I love the Grisha world. I get so excited to find a YA fantasy that is doing it right and I really feel like Leigh Bardugo is blowing it out of the water.
