Daycare

Currently we have been using a home daycare for M, but we were just recently informed that she's only going to be able to watch M on Tues and Thurs now. She had a name of a friend in the area, but she won't have an available spot until November. I know most if you girls don't live up this way, but does anyone have any suggestions for an in home daycare in the N Wilmington / Claymont areas?

Re: Daycare

  • I don't have any specific recommendations, but try looking on the website for the office of child care licensing in Delaware. You should be able to get a lost of centers as well as additional info like complaints, stars level, etc.

  • Thanks! I've been looking there, it's just so hard to trust a complete stranger! The lady he has been going to was recommended by a coworker.

  • When I was looking for someone I looked on Care.com and found a few in home providers that way.

    Thanks @s517‌

I tried checking care.com, but was finding mostly hourly babysitters and nannies. Maybe it was because I was on mobile? I'll have to check again later when I can get onto my laptop.

  • My boss used someone, but when my friend Sabrina tried to call her, she never returned any of her phone calls.  She ended up taking her daughter to Babes on the Square.

that was basically what I found in my area too on care.com

maybe post something on your fb wall to see if anyone has recommendations, I did that and got a lot of good feedback.

  • also, what changed with your current provider? that sucks she would randomly change her availability

I posted on Facebook too and found our lady. She's the cousin of a girl that my sister works with. I wasn't going to post on FB but I'm glad I did because we love her.

I'm sorry you have to change! It's hard to find someone you trust and it sucks when you have to make a switch. I hope you find someone soon!

  • That stinks...its such a stressful decision and to have to do it again really stinks! Hopefully you will find something you feel comfortable with quickly.
