I know. The first thing I did when I saw his name on the roster was yell, "STOP GOING TO THESE THINGS AND FINISH THE DAMN BOOK ALREADY!"

I think I scared my cat.

I know he gets tired of hearing it, but seriously. Come the eff on. He doesn't even talk about the third book. Is he even working on it? Someone needs to send him a copy of that software that makes you quit social media-ing for x amount of minutes so you can WRITE.

He keeps saying that his two kids consume all of his time. Between his kids and all the social media, we're never getting a book.

Writing the novella was his way of keeping the masses happy for a while longer.

The novella (that he is TOURING for!!!) was what put me over the edge. Sooo, who was watching your kids while you wrote that?!? Magical.

Seriously though, he's getting a little annoying about it. I love him, but I almost feel like he's enjoying being a prima donna about it just a little bit too much.

I'm tired of thinking about it. Used to like him as a persona and now I really dislike him. I figure when the book comes out it will be as good as we want it to be but I honestly think he's out of ideas or afraid or something. No doubt his editor and agent are like, "what are you DOING?" Nearly four years out with no end in sight makes me question him altogether.

So, all of this beating around the bush is a starting to make me think that he really just has no idea how the story ends.

This thought has kept me up at night on several occasions.

For some reason GRRM doesn't bother me as much. His series is different - it's more of an ongoing saga, whereas the first two KKC were not written that way. Also, I feel like GRRM is just like fuck you, I'll do whatever I want and Patrick Rothfuss is trying to be like him, but he's a newer author without the street cred and it just makes him look a little diva-ish.

Have you guys read Neil Gaiman's "GRR Martin is Not Your Bitch" blog post? LOL... I totally get it, but I'm still pissy about PRoth's 'tude.

Diana Gabaldon's responses to readers begging her to write faster are always pretty classy. She's not up on a high horse about it, she just tries to explain what takes so long.

I have started to lose interest in the last book and the longer it takes the less excited I am. I don't see how he can wrap everything up in one more book though. So if I have to wait forever for him to say it won't be the end of this series there will be so much rage.

MH went yesterday and he said it was a madhouse. And it wasn't even sold out like the rest of the weekend is. It was oxygen being sucked out of the room crowded.

But he didn't approach the authors section so I couldn't have him yell at Rothfuss. I tried.
