Re: advice for the pregnants

  • Seriously, do what she says! And I'm sorry about your bronchitis. :( I keep peeing my pants too, but it's because Thomas keeps headbutting me in the bladder. I'm on the verge of buying depends. Lol

  • Squats are also really great at strengthening your pelvic floor.

PB - Have you considered physical therapy to help re-train your pelvic floor?  It sounds weird but it can make a world of difference.  In fact, the paper I'm writing in grad school right now is about post-partum pelvic rehabilitation.

  • Thanks @madeline10L and @sguatschi.  My Dr thinks I had some viral bronchitis that made my asthma (which is normally only exercise induced) flare.  Two nights in a row, I coughed for 2 hours straight.  And then at work for an hour this morning.  I started prednisone this morning and thankfully, it's really helped.

Lindsay, I've never heard of that!  What exercises are you supposed to do?

I don't think it was pelvic floor PT, though.

  • The PT can be quite 'hands on' but I have a friend who had great success after her 2nd when she discovered she couldn't jump up and down or run or do anything that caused internal pressure on those muscles. In terms of exercises, kegels are definitely a foundation exercise, especially practicing multi-stage controle.
