What are you reading?

What is on your list to read or have you read that you recommend??

I am currently ready a smut novel but I am about to start Everything Left Unsaid by Jessica Davidson.

I read:
Orange Is The New Black - which was great. I liked that it was almost nothing like the show, even though I like the show, but it was a better book.
One Moment - Kristina McBride - good book I gave it 4/5 stars. It had been emotionally so wrapped into it I was fighting sleep to finish it.

imageMags's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)

Re: What are you reading?

  • I always have more than 1 book going at a time and read whichever I'm in the mood for.  Then of course have an audiobook to listen to while doing housework.  So these are what I have going right now.

    1. McGreggor Brides by Nora Roberts
    2. Boneman's Daughters by Ted Dekker that @rockabye recommended a while ago.  It is amazing and so addicting!
    3. Listening to Insurgent by Veronica Roth (for the 2nd time).

I'm glad you like it! You should check out Water Walker, also by him. I just read it a little while back and couldn't put it down. It's different than Boneman's Daughters, but just as addicting. :)

  • A friend begged me to read Outlander so I just started it. It's a little slow getting into it though so I'm only about a fifth of the way in. I'm also still slowly plugging away at the Wahl's Protocol but that's not a fun, fiction book :)

  • Winter of the World by Ken Follett- so far so good.  It's no Pillars of the Earth, but it's been interesting.

"I DO NOT love that you think so many things revolve around you.  I know you're bitter.  I get it.  But I'm over your feelings." The best person on the internet ever!
  • I'm reading Gone Girl.

  • I just finished Bill Bryson's 'One Summer: America, 1927'. It was excellent. Really entertaining and also had a ton of interesting history that I never really knew about. I'm a nonfiction person more than a fiction one, usually.

That said, I'm now reading 'The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August' by Claire North. I'm about 1/4 of the way through and I'm still not sure what exactly is going on, but I'm still loving it.

  • @beelu Have you read many of Bill Bryson's books?  He's one of my favorite authors, and my favorite book of all is "Neither Here nor There: Travels in Europe."

  • I'm in the middle of grad school plus teaching full time, so I haven't had much time for fiction. I just started the Lowell Experience tonight...it is a history of the creation of Lowell National Historic Area
"I said what I meant and I meant what I said, an elephant's faithful 100%" Dr. Seuss, Horton Hatches The Egg. My Ovulation Chart Ttc buddies with LexiMS!
  • @brij2006 I've read a few, but I want to read more - I really like his style, and I love all of the things I learn from them. If you like the style, you'd probably like Sam Kean, too. He writes history of science books, and they are excellent (The Violinist's Thumb and The Disappearing Spoon). Highly recommended!

  • I just finished Rob Lowe's book "Stories I Only Tell My Friends".  I enjoyed it, but I also have a 25 year old crush on Rob Lowe.

I'm currently reading a book called "Eating Mindfully". It's giving me some things to think about.

Next up is "Blindness" by José Saramago. I've been told not to read it during all the ebola panic, but I'm not too worried/stressed about ebola.

I  need to start a new book, though!
