  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  Rough.  We needed a lot of stuff.  It was all budgeted, but still spent a lot.  $350 at Menards for drywall and other misc, $200 on groceries, and $20 on gas for the truck we borrowed.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  This month is going to be interesting.  We are remodeling the last room in our house, and after getting the walls pulled out we realized that the insulation behind it needs ripped out and redone.  We budgeted for worst case scenario, but were really hoping to salvage as much as possible.
We also found that there's some HVAC work that needs to be done that FIL can't do all himself.  So we get to pay someone to come in and do that.
We also need new tires for my car and H's car before winter.  All of which was saved for monthly over the last 5 months, but we're talking about $1,500 total. Still doesn't make it easy to spend.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?

Definitely the cell phone. Not because it's expensive, but because their system has many flaws and half the time it takes me 30 minutes just to get logged on and the bill paid.  Pain in my ass!

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

I only went out Friday and paid for DD#2 daycare registration $50 and spent $46 on groceries and craft items for our Comic Con costumes.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Not going out was a goal accomplished this weekend.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?

Our cars. I can't wait until they are paid off.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Good!  Although there were a lot of expenses, we stayed within budget on my friend's baby shower and football beer.  I used a little "fun money" on takeout sushi.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Well, when I get paid tomorrow there will be.  We are starting a separate Capital One account for home repair expenses, and I'll be adding money towards all of our various savings and debt goals.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?

Oh that's a tough one!  Sewer because it's stupid expensive and feels like a double-tax on our water, and my car because the website is such a relic (it is literally closed during non-business hours-how!?)

It was OK. $25 on dinner Friday night; $90 on groceries; $55 on gas (we traveled a lot).

    2. Any progress towards goals?
    Not this week

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?
Ugh.. that gas bill.  It isn't so bad in the summer, but it gets up to $150 in winter.  This is ridiculous to me, because we don't even use gas heating.  Our gas is solely for the stove and hot water heater.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Ours wasn't too bad.  We went to my hometown for a wedding, so we stayed with my parents.  We spent about $40 on gas for that, but that was all.  Then Sunday we spent around $100 for groceries.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

    Not really, no.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?

Probably the electric bill.  We only get it about a week before it drafts from our account.  Once in awhile I'm way off in my estimate of what it's going to be, and then I'm scrambling.

Pretty good considering we had the kidds birthday party. $65 groceries, $75 birthday stuff, $20 home improvement, $45 out to eat with my parents (not bad for 6 people!).

    2. Any progress towards goals?
Vet is paid in full - received our second bill on Friday.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?
    Car loans!

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Not too bad, $60 on gas and another $60 on groceries, then $9 for a gift for a going away party.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Not really, but did find out the truck repairs will be $45 less than I was expecting and budgeted for.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?

By far, our car insurance. It is way too high, but that's my fault. :(

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? - We did pretty good. Sold our treadmill that we don't use & since it was a pre-marital purchse by my husband (he bought it shortly after we started dating) I told him he could use the money for a goal he had saving up for. He sold unused things to save up for a new game system. Even thought playing 2-3 hours a week is his only vice, we don't have money in the budget to pay for it. He found ways to pay for it, plus clear up space in our home.

    2. Any progress towards goals? One month closer to hospital bills from my surgery in August being paid off & one more month closer to husband's debts being paid off

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay - All of them

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not too good...

271 on 4 tickets for Garth Brooks concert... DH bought 4 because he said if none of his friends want to go he can just sell them online for double the price.... Well apparently ticketmaster tied it to his credit card so he can't transfer them to someone else... i'm hoping they will let him return just 2 of them but i doubt it. if we don't find 2 friends to come which we can't so far - we essentially paid double. OUCH! And no none of this was budgetted - its just one of those bucket list things to see Garth Brooks in concert.

    2. Any progress towards goals? won't know until the end of the month

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?

Well I should say my student loans or my car payment cus those hurt the most... but i HATE paying our Time Warner Internet bill because i just HATE that company. They are the scum of the earth as far as i'm concerned and i hate giving them money. I would love to switch but if we want internet this is our only choice right now

why do you hate time warner?  We don't like their customer service.  Luckily we are getting google fiber really soon so we can say bye bye to TW.  They are scrambling like crazy to keep their customers.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  Not bad, we paid cash for everything including going to Boo at the Zoo on Sunday.  I even came in under budget on my groceries, planned to spend $100 and came in at $92.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Trying to accelerate paying off my credit card.  Then will focus on MW's car.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?  Depending on my mental state, it can be all of them and then I start waiting until the last minute to pay them.  I also really hate car payments and it looks like we will have to replace MW's car sooner than later.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? H spent $50 on dinner and drinks. I earned $250 babysitting all weekend!

    2. Any progress towards goals? Nothing yet. I need to put that check in savings.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay? Now that we have no SL debt I don't really mind any of our bills. We only have car insurance and cell phones now.

Also just have to say that we have less than one year to TTC! H seems to be getting really excited about it. I love how being MM has helped us move this date nearly 7 months ahead.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  Bad.  Very bad.  But, we were able to mix some responsible decisions into our bad ones.  H spent $1,100 on world series tickets and we paid $1,125 to have our trees trimmed before winter.  All of this is to come out of a bonus he gets at month's end, which we had originally planned to put on my student loan.  At this point, we'll still be able to pay an extra $1,000 on that, and if the world series doesn't go to seven games, we'll get $550 back that we can add to the student loan amount.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  Not last week, but this Thursday, I'll be able to throw an extra $500 to my SL and put $500 in savings.

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?  Car insurance.  Everything else we have on fixed pay amounts so we know when and exactly how much it will be.  Car insurance we pay semi-annually, and I always seem to forget when it's about to hit!  I used to feel the same way about tags and taxes until we started driving "beater" cars, and now those are less than $50 a year!  :)

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

    Friday - stayed in $0

Saturday - cider donuts and hot apple cider for breakfast $5, and pizza and salad for dinner $25.   ya, not the healthiest day, way out of the norm, but so delicious.

Sunday - $180 on a few new pairs of pants for work.  I was down to only four pairs and then one ripped and one other was wearing out so I was desperate.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  No, not a great month so far.  I upgraded my laptop (old one was 6+ years old and super slow, and I use my personal laptop for work everyday so I couldn't ahdnle it anymore) so between that and starting to pay for our vacation in April we are spending more than I wanted this month. But it's all budgeted in the long run, just annoying...

    3. What is your least favorite bill to pay?    internet - I feel like I have NO control over it and it sucks

  • Weekend was ok. Don't know numbers because we are still being really bad with our budget, but I did a craft fair, we ordered pizza one night and that is about it. Dh did projects around the house and Sunday we stayed in most I the day.
Progress on paying off the new mortgage: we were able to get the $ from the sale of the old home applied to the principle and applied for the recast. It will lower our payment by $500 a month which gives us a lot of flexibility but we will probably keep paying the original payment so we have the house paid off in under 10 years.
Least favorite bill would be the water bill- and we haven't even gotten one yet. Our water company is completely incompetent. Their meter readers can't read the meters so you will get random 3-400$ bills because they misread, and you have to get them to come back out 2-3 times before they admit making a mistake and changing it. We have been in this house just under 2 months and still haven't gotten a bill. They say they haven't received the paperwork from the builder, so I'm preparing myself for a 3-4 month water bill when it does come. Old answer would have been cell phone- too much. $ for such a simple service. But we now live Ina small town and everything else doesn't cover the town, so we have no options.

They have horrible customer service - We had them a while ago for cable/internet in our apt and the service would cut out all the time and just hell to have to talk to on the phone. We were hesitant to go back but now they are the only ones to get internet through so we sucked it up because i need internet for work. But they apparently changed their billing policy and didn't tell me. Which i still didn't get that much info from them until after my second late fee. I always paid my bill on the 30th no late fees and no problems for 6 months - then all of a sudden i started getting late fees. Apparently its due on the 25th so any payment after that gets a 9 dollar late fee.  I called them and told them and they said they'd remove them both. but i noticed i still have one late fee on my account so i called them again and their like oh no we have a one late fee removal every 6 months policy....  Let me guess another new policy that you don't inform your customers of considering you had zero late fees before.

They started charging $5 for our modem this year and then gave us an additional $5 rate increase. I was pissed! Tw came to our door again yesterday trying to get me to sign up for a new promotion for faster speed. They are calling our house too. Our neighborhood will be getting fiber within the next month and they are scrambling to keep customers. They won't be the only company in town anymore.
