OK. Here goes. TMI. FFC.

Okay, you guys. This is going to be TMI and FFC. I asked a few months ago about menstrual cups and am now reporting back.

I am seriously in love with the Diva Cup. I was convinced to try SoftCups two cycles ago by Lucky, and I liked them but didn't like the waste (they use a lot of plastic). I am so much more granola than I thought.

Enter the menstrual cup. Sure, it was expensive at first, but I like that it's reusable. Yes, reusable. Just hear me out. They're supposed to last a year if cared for properly. It was a little hard to figure out the first few days of my cycle last month, but I eventually got the hang of it. Lucky for me, DH was traveling at the end of my cycle, so I was able to boil it on the stove without him seeing. I purchased a cheap small pot as my "Diva Cup pot" for cleaning. Last week I realized that CD1 would be coming soon, and instead of wondering, "Maybe we'll be that small percent," I got really excited to use my cup. I was excited to get my period. And I was 3T. What?!

You guys. You have to try it. I can go a full work day and more without having to empty it, and I don't worry about leaks anymore. I don't feel it when I'm exercising. After temping and checking CM, it's really not that big of a deal to insert the thing.

Plus, after spending so much time hating my uterus, I'm finding it kind of cool to track what's going on during AF (there are measurement marks on it).

You have to try it. There are a few other brands, but my local store only carried the DC.

and ILRV that is the best ever.  I did all my own shots too...I just couldn't let H poke me with a needle.

  • I LOVE my diva cup. I will never, ever go back to tampons or pads. I know they say it lasts for a year, but I've had mine since 2011 with no issues.
