GTKY: that guy I married

Alan and I met working in boats. He was a captain and I was a first mate looking for a new company that would potentially maybe hire me and allow me to move up if I ever got my captain's license. (The boating industry is very sexist) There was a guy that wanted to show me his boat and have me work for him. He was a total creep, but Alan worked for him and when I went to check out the boat and we talked all night.

He gave me a ride home, exchanged numbers and we started dating two weeks later and two weeks after that we were living together. Before I met Alan I was heading down a very bad path and I believe meeting him saved my life. We balance each other out really well. Plus, he can get me on free whale watches ;-)

We got married on August 7, 2010 on the beach in Hingham it was a perfect day!

ETA: some wedding pics. We have like no pictures of just us. :-/

  • Cute story! Very impressed with your boating background. Why don't you do that anymore? I don't know anything about that industry, so I apologize if the answer is obvious. ;)

  • What a neat story. Not everyone can say that they have a background in boating. I don't live near the coast so maybe that's why it seems so cool to me. :)
