Happy Friday!

Happy Halloween! What are you reading? Is it for one of the challenges? Just for fun, what is the scariest book you've ever read?

Re: Happy Friday!

  • I'm halfway through The Dream Thieves. Like The Raven Boys it started slowly for me but now I'm really into it.

I haven't read many scary books as an adult. I get creeped out enough with my own imagination!!

  • The Raven Boys.

Yea, I know.  No need to tell me how behind I am in this.  It's #71 for the year.

Scariest books I've ever read were In a Dark Place and It.
    75 Books in 2015?

    It's slippery as waterweed.
  • Listening to The Dream Thieves.  Reading Velvet Song.  And I just got Blood Magick yesterday so I might bring that with me this weekend and start it.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • I'm reading Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy #1) by Sarah Rees Brennan. It will be #122 for the year. I am loving it so far.

Scariest book ever read: I don't really read a lot of scary books. Maybe The Red Dragon by Thomas Harris or The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker, which is what the HellRaiser movies are based off of.

  • I just started "The Silent Wife".  I am also working on "The Lost Art of Dress".

These are books #101 and #102 for the year.

Books don't really scare me.  But I suppose "The Girl Next Door" by Jack Ketchum was probably the most disturbing book I ever read.
    90 books in 2015?

  • I'm kinda re-reading Raven Boys. I started it last weekend, but I haven't had the desire to read all week so it's been untouched.

  • I finished The Broken Eye by Brent Weeks, which was fantastic. It is a fantasy series set in a world where people can use different colors of light to do interesting things. I picked of Shield of Winter by Nalini Singh and it has been a slow start. I think they are around 125 for the year.

Scariest book for me was It.

  • I'm reading Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor and The Sweetness of Forgetting by Kristin Harmel. I'm listening to Stardust by Neil Gaiman.

These are 52-54 for the year. I met my goal of 50  books last week!

  • I'm listening to Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo.  I'm glad I waited until all of these were out so I could get to them immediately.  Such an awesome series!

  • Happy Friday!  I am reading Dreamer's Pool by Juliet Marillier and hoping to start Bone Clocks this weekend.  Her books always take awhile for me to get into, but I'm hoping this gets interesting soon.

I don't read too many scary books, but there was a time last year when I had just started Night Film and I could not sleep.
  • I finished Blue Lily, Lily Blue on Wednesday and I'm never reading another book again.

  • What are you reading? The Dream Thieves

Is it for one of the challenges? My personal challenge which I am failing miserably at.  This is #29 for the year.

What is the scariest book you've ever read? I have never found a book that has scared me. If anyone is up for the challenge to find me one- I'm in!

  • I'm not reading anything until after my licensure exam on Nov. 11. Just a week and half left!  :-S

I am scared too easily. I can't think of the scariest book, but I remember all the parts of books that kept me awake for hours.

  • I am reading Top-Secret Twenty-One by Janet Evanovich.  I have to read quickly because it's due Sunday and I can't renew it.

The scariest book I ever read was The Shining by Stephen King.  I actually didn't finish it, I was too scared.

  • I stayed up late and finished The Martian by Andy Weir last night. It was so good! I started Landline this morning. They are #43 and #44 for the year.

    Oh totally.

No other book can possibly satisfy me right now.

Ditto. That was a book that ruined me for all other books for a while. Dreams of Gods and Monsters was like that for me too.

  • I'm reading Salt and Storm by Kendall Kulper - it's a YA fantasy about a girl who is part of a family of sea witches who protect the whalers on their island in 1865 and dreams her own murder. The atmosphere is super cool and I like the story too.

I'm also listening to Rip-off by John Scalzi and other authors.

    image image
  • I'm listening to The Secret Place by Tana French and loving it. I was concerned about jumping around in the Dublin Murder Squad books but I don't really think it's impacted this particular story background much for me. If I'm missing something I can't tell.

Also reading Born in Shame to finish out the west coast Ireland series. I like it more than the first, less than the second at this point.

    They're books 57 & 58?

The scariest book I've ever read was The Amityville Horror because when I read it I thought it was factual. I can't recall a book recently that I wanted to put into the freezer.
