I just saw on my FB feed that Pottermore will have a new HP story on Halloween. It's supposed to provide more information on Umbridge.

Has anyone else seen this? Thoughts?

    Yes.  I can't think of many characters I have hated more than Umbridge!!  That stupid evil pen.  Gah.

    Here's my Friday Confession: I hate Umbridge too much to be excited about this. I really don't care about her story. 

    I'll hand in my HP Fan Club membership card tomorrow.

    I'm kind of happy with the Harry Potter story staying as is.  Maybe that makes me a bad fan, but it just feels complete to me.  I love the world and would totally read more stories set in the magical universe, but I don't need to read any more about the characters from the HP stories.  I like them as they are.

    Pottermore is the online world where you can go through specific moments in the books as Harry would have.  You search for things, practice dueling and potions and other things.  You're Sorted into a House during the first book.  

    Since the Umbridge story is being released on Pottermore, it stands to reason that it would coincide with the launch of OOTP since that's where she's introduced.  Right?

    Oh okay that does make sense. I forget about Pottermore. I made an account forever ago to buy the Kindle books but I got frustrated with the games.

    I'm the complete opposite. I want stories about the Marauders and what Hogwarts was like during their time and the same for the next generation (with Harry's and Ron's kids). And I wish there was a real Dumbledore biography to read.

    Although I do get what you mean about them feeling complete. But then I reread the series and want MORE.

    I hated Umbridge but look forward to more HP. I am an addict and don't care what form it comes in.

    So am I right in assuming that in order to get the new content, I have to create a Pottermore account and then play games in order to get to it?  Like I can't just create an account and read the stories?

    Kind of.  They're built into the storyline so you have to go along and try to collect things.  I don't bother with the potion making or dueling or any of the other things in Pottermore.  I just go through the story, collecting things and reading the new content.
