Haven't been on here in a while. Divorce was finalized back in July, been in my new apartment since April (that was a headache from XH about me moving out). Financial goal updates: Got less than $7k in credit card debt (my goal is this to be gone by end of July 2015), building savings up as I can $50-100 a month, and finally enrolled in my work's 401k program (contributing 5% pre tax and 2% in a Roth). So with now having a 401k through work I want to focus on my other financial goals first before working on my IRA contributions. My other financial goals are regular savings ($1k), emergency fund ($15k), moving fund ($2k), and car fund ($5k), and then will focus on maxing out my IRA contributions. I will also eventually need to pay for my bachelor's degree which I will pay per semester (I will only be doing 2 classes/semester which is $1200 per class at a local University online.)
I have been working on getting my budget in order and found a way to get out my 1 year kickboxing membership early by switching to a 35 class card on 12/1 which will be 3 payments of $149 instead of 8 payments of $125. I shop at Aldi's, I don't have cable, and cancelling my netflix as I barely watch it. No real questions yet, but wanted to give an update.
