How many books do you typically read at once?

I have been a one book at a time kind of girl, but in the past week, I have started three different books. Do you guys typically read more than one book at a time? If so, how many? Is there a point where it becomes difficult to keep track of the story lines?

Re: How many books do you typically read at once?

  • I typically only read one book at a time, but if I read more than one at once they would probably have to be from completely different genres or something for me to keep them straight.

  • I'm usually a read one and listen to one kind of gal, so is that one or two? I might read two at a time if one is an ebook and one is a paper book.

  • I only read one at a time.

  • I almost always have 2 going at a time: one physical book or Kindle book and one audiobook, but sometimes I'll have a third or fourth in the mix.
I don't think I've ever had a problem with getting story lines mixed up unless both are kind of meh and not holding my attention 100%.

  • Typically just one, but right now I am juggling several for my class.  I've also started listening to books in the car, so I guess my new normal would be one reading one listening.

  • Typically at least 3. Unless the book is AMAZING I have a hard time focusing on just one for too long.

  • I tend to be in the 3 to 4 camp. One is usually a physical book, one  is an e-book, one is audio and sometimes I double up on any of those category depending on what is going on.

I've never had a problem keeping storylines straight. My only thing is I'm bad at remember character names. There have been times if I put a book down for a week or so because I'm working on something else and pick it back up I won't remember which name goes to which character.
  • I usually have about 3 on the go at a time but have had up to 5 at once before.

  • Anywhere from 2-4.  I have one going at work, one at home, and one on audio usually.

  • Usually 2 or 3 but I can do up to 5.  After that, it gets too confusing.

  • I usually have one book and one audio. Unless I'm reading a paper book then I also read a book on my nook before bed using glow light.

I don't think mixing them up is an issue, just like you can watch multiple tv shows at a time and not get confused.

  • Just one. I think I'd forget details if I let too much time go between reading if I were reading more than one.

  • Usually 2 unless I'm super into a book or it's due back to the library soon. Then I will focus on one.

  • Usually 3.  I listen to one in the car, read one at work and have something on my Kindle I read before bed. My trick to keeping them straight is different genres. I like fantasy audio books, romance/chick lit on my Kindle and general fiction/YA for work.

  • One or two physical books, one ebook and one audiobook.  And no, I don't think I've ever gotten the stories mixed up.

  • Used to always be one book and one audiobook but I rarely do audiobooks anymore. So just one at a time for me!

  • I usually just read one book at a time, but I've started reading two at once. I started reading personal development books and usually spend about 15 minutes a day reading that. My other reading time is spent on whatever other book I happen to pick up.

  • Typically 1 or 2. Not counting the Bible or any sort of daily devotional. If I am reading a second book, it is usually because the first one isn't holding my attention or I need a break from it.
