Dry shampoo question

I've never used dry shampoo and I'm looking for some recommendations.  If I don't blow dry my hair after a shower it will look kind of greasy the next day.  I'm too lazy to blow dry my hair lately and have been falling asleep with it wet, then I wake up and it looks like a grease ball.

Re: Dry shampoo question

  • Step one : don't wash it everyday. It will look gross for about 10 days but then it gets better.

Step two: ditch the conditioner. Use a spray in (I recommend infusium) instead.

I have the same issues and since doing the above I can get 2-3 days out of my hair. And I have fine thin oily hair.

  • I've never had good luck with dry shampoo but I've only tried one. I have friends that swear by it though.

I wash my hair every other day.  I've started to use just a little conditioner and that helps but it still looks gross the next day.
  • I have this problem too. I feel like my hair is greasy and gross if I don't wash it everyday. I do use conditioner everyday but I do the conditioner before shampooing.

@snuff9861‌ - I know this might be a dumb question but are you saying after 10 days of not washing your hair at all it will start looking better or something different?

  • I have the same issues. I had tried dry shampoos and hated them since I have dark hair and they all leave white residue in my hair. I googled and I make my own now. I use a 1:1 ratio of cornstarch to cocoa powder and mix together. I usually do 2 tablespoons of each at a time. It lasts about 6 months until I have to mix more. Then I use an old make-up face brush to apply to my hair when it's in a ponytail. I just apply it to the roots. It makes such a difference. With you being blonde, you could probably use straight cornstarch. It's a lot cheaper than anything you can buy!

  • @minionlover‌ no not at all. But if her hair gets greasy everyday, washing it every 2nd day will take about 10 days to signal to the glands to stop producing so much oil.

  • I agree with not washing it daily. I used to wash it every other, but got lazy during pregnancy. Now I can go 3-4 days. Yes I'm that lazy.

As for dry shampoo, I use sauve and just spray the roots do my make up then run my hands through. I still pull it up, it's just not as greesy.

  • I use Suave and I love it, but I'm blonde so I don't have to deal with the color issue.  I hate washing my hair!

  • I LOVE dry shampoo! I use this one from Klorane LINK. I've tried a few different brands, and that one is definitely the best. It doesn't leave the gross powder buildup that some of the other brands I've tried do. Also, they recently came out with a tinted one for brunettes, I haven't tried that one yet, but I'll be ordering it when I run out of my current one.

  • @brainybrunette thanks for the link!  I'm definitely buying that :)  I'm such a product junkie!
