FBC Popular Book: "The Edge of Eternity"

I had been waiting since the last book "The Winter of the World" came out for this one to come out.  I loved being able to follow the different families especially from different countries as they experienced various moments of history.  I wish the trilogy wasn't over because I would love to see how things keep progressing. I have not read any other books by Ken Follett but it makes me want to look into reading some more how much I enjoyed this trilogy.

  • This book was my least favorite of the series but now I'm thinking of picking the Pillars of the Earth books.

  • I LOVED the Pillars of the Earth books. I haven't yet read The Edge of Eternity, but I really enjoyed the first one of this series.

  • There were some parts that were meh for me but I thought it tied up the series. What did you not like?

  • @eajanvrin Well we already discussed how all the sex scenes were obnoxious.   And now, 3 days out from finishing it, that's really all I remember.  Lots of cheating and sex.

I didn't connect with the characters as much in this book - bad or good.  I didn't really care for any of them.  In the first book I remember LOATHING some of them and loving others - the book got me worked up! -  and this book I just was indifferent.

  • I agree this book was the weakest of the trilogy.
I don't know if it was him covering such a large time span compared to the others, the particular characters or what but while I liked it it was not a favorite.

  • I knew the sex scenes, didn't know if there was more :).I think the part I liked most was getting to know the political parts more. I have thought I would like to see how the families continue but I think it is more how they connect with the current events that interested me more.
