After our last cat passed, we picked up a cat from the local humane society about a month ago. Other than the first poop he had here after coming home, he has had constant diarrhea. We mentioned this to the vet when we took him in for a wellness checkup and brought in a sample to check for worms, but it came back negative.
So far, things we've done include Feliway, antibiotics, probiotics, and this week the vet wants to try giving him de-worming medicine and food just in case. He has two litterboxes on opposite sides of the apartment which we scoop out every couple days in addition to changing completely once a week. We've gotten him a larger cat tree and lots of toys. He had been on a special food at the humane society because of a past UTI, and we haven't changed that up at all except to supplement with some wet food (Wilderness brand) to give him the medicines.
Aside from the diarrhea, he is a sweet cuddly guy who loves to play and has a motorboat purr. We just want him to be healthy (and also not having to constantly check his paws for poop or checking the floor for it would be A++). Does anyone have any other suggestions of what we could do, or bring up to the vet??

Re: Cat diarrhea
I also struggle with chronic diarrhea in many of my patients on blue wilderness it's extraordinarily high in fat which can be an issue. I recommend transitioning to a better balanced diet. My favorite is canned wellness complete health.
I asked today at the vets and apparently they looked at the sample through a microscope to see if there were any eggs.
