Where We Live

Right now, we live in a log cabin in the woods on over 100 acres in South Georgia. DH, and I, and the dogs love it! In January, we will be moving to Ohio, and we will likely be living in an apartment (huge change!). Hopefully we will only live in the apartment for a year. DH and I want to find some land to buy, about 10 acres, and build a house on it.

Our TTC Journey

I have had baby fever for about 3.5 years, ever since my friend told me she was pregnant…her daughter will be three in 3 weeks. My brain overpowers my ovaries, and I have known that it wasn’t our time to TTC yet. Right now, DH and I are TTA and planning to start TTC August 2015, but that may change between now and then.

We want a baby farm animal nursery or a baby forest animals nursery for boy or girl. We plan on finding out the sex of our baby while I’m pregnant. We have several names picked out already. For a girl, we like Rebecca Rosemary (Rose and Mary after our grandmothers), Rebecca Alana, and Lauren Elizabeth. I love Rebecca Charlotte, but DH doesn’t like the name Charlotte. For a boy we like William Ernest (both family names), William Lee (Lee is a family name), William Avery, and Judson Lee. William Ernest will have Wes as a nickname (our last name starts with S). I love the Berkshire collection from BRU: infant seat, pack n play, highchair, stroller, and swing. It is a chocolate paisley with touches of green. It may be too feminine for a boy though. What do y’all think?

@GABride201o , my husband would love to live in a log cabin in acres of land. I am all for compromise, but I told him that will never happen. I need some neighbors.

@Madeline10L I want a big kitchen with an island with a range and a metal countertop. I want non-granite countertops in the rest of the kitchen. I would love a big farmhouse sink and a double oven. I want an orange room in the house (I would love to paint the kitchen orange, but DH doesn't like that idea). I also want a large living room with a fireplace, smaller bedrooms, a basement, a two car garage with an attached mud room. Ideally, I would like to have a 4br 2.5ba house...nothing too huge (square footage), but large enough to be comfortable and be able to entertain family and guests. I think about our future house a lot (I'm sure you can tell!). I can't wait until we can buy/build!

@HoneyBee973 I actually love living out in the country like we do. Our closest neighbors are about 1/4 mile away, but they are around if we need anything! I love the land, but I would destroy the house and rebuild in a minute if I could. The house wasn't insulated well, and the doors don't fit properly, so it gets very drafty in the house. Also, the cabin was not lived in for about 15 years before we moved in, so we had to deal with problems like the squirrels that had chewed through electrical wires and the AC ducts, etc... We also can't get satellite TV because there are too many trees around, so we don't have cable.

What a change! I've always wanted to live on a ton of land with a log cabin, but there are definitely perks to being closer to/in town.
