Scorpio Races Movie in the Works!

Have you guys seen the news?

Scorpio Races was the first book that made me fall in love with Maggie Steifvater's writing and I think this could work really well as a movie. Raven Boys I feel like Hollywood could screw up about 850 ways, but I think Scorpio Races could make an awesome translation to movie form.

FYA's quote about the casting cracked me up: "Note to Hollywood: You better not cast Shailene/Chloe as Puck or we'll go capall uisce on your ass."
I concur.

  • They better not screw up their accents. It was my very favorite part of listening to this book.

I was sort of nervous about this but it's probably one of the most adaptable books from her lot.

  • If they eff this up, I will cut someone. I literally just gasped in the middle of a rather large meeting about this. So excited!

  • I'm cautiously optimistic...dependent on the casting.

  • I really hope Shailene Woodley has never heard of The Scorpio Races. You know what happens when she feels "connected" to the material.

  • I'm less worried about the casting and more concerned about the capaill uisce.  I hope they employ some good special effects, and the CU aren't just big horses or something else that's lame. They should be terrifying and beautiful, equine and lupine and of the sea. That's the potential epic fail.

The finale hounds from Hunger Games. The Cullen's eyes (or Rosalie and Jasper's hair ffs) or the sparkle skin. They're often screwing up the effects on YA movies. Or they change the story to fit the effects that they can do like the HP maze from GoF. They need to bring in the graphic artists who are doing the dragons on HBO's GOT. Those are fantastic!
