Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • Here’s my confession:

That catcalling video that went viral annoys me.  Some of it pissed me off because I can relate to having guys say to me, “Smile!”  WHY DO I NEED TO SMILE FOR YOUR BENEFIT?!?!?  I DON’T EVEN KNOW YOU!

    HOWEVER....

Yes, some of that activity was clearly catcalling, but when did having a man say to you, “Have a nice day,” become a bad thing?  THAT IS NOT A CATCALL.  I've had guys say that to me in the street and I just respond with, “You too.”  In my opinion, that doesn't become a catcall unless you know what the intention is.  If they’re telling you to have a nice day in hopes of getting a response that will prompt a conversation, that’s one thing.  If someone is just trying to be a nice person, why should we hold that against them?  Most times, when I respond, “You too,” it ends there.  There’s maybe been a couple of times where it tried to go beyond that, but I’m not going to judge every guy who is friendly as someone who is trying to get in a woman’s pants.  What if this guy just won the lottery and is in a great mood?!? That part of the video annoys me.

I feel that way about a tote bag that I've been looking for.  I don't want to pay a ton of money but I want something that I can throw my wallet, shoes, umbrella, the occasional lunch and other sundry items into and carry into work.  With a top zipper.

I hear you.  I already have a large purse, but for work I'd love something I can put a hardcover, my lunch, odds and ends and my purse contents.  But it would get beat to shit and I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars.

  • I've never like John Green and never got the hype. Am I ahead of the curve for once?!

My DH is sick. I should have sympathy but I don't. Go get your allergy shots like suggested and then maybe I will! So instead I'm mad at him. Super mature.

I don't think I knew Paper Towns was becoming a movie.  I haven't read it and I don't really follow him anywhere unless it's something you guys post.  I loved TFIOS but it's really the only thing I've read by him.

  • I started following John Green on Instagram a year or two ago.  I realize that celebrities get a lot of likes fast, but it's started to annoy me when I see he has like 27000 likes in 2 MINUTES.  Dude.  I think I'm off the John Green train too.

I totally get this. Sometimes the internet takes a thing and beats it to literal death so that the whole point gets lost. I really feel like that was the case with this video.

I love that my husband has hands like tough leather due to his job as he never notices when I don't shave. BAM!

And I love winter with boots and long skirts.... no need to shave!

I had the PERFECT bag for this when I was working.  Dump everything in on my way out the door.  I got it at Disney World.  It was just gray with a silver Mickey bangle on the handle.  It was one of those, "Spend XXXX and get this bag for $20."  Best $20 ever.
