  • My homemade cranberry sauce.  I've been making it since I was a girl.  The recipe is in an old cookbook at my parents' house.  The pages are falling out, food is smeared on it...good stuff.  :)

It's a sign of a good recipe if the pages are caked together.  ;)

My Mum makes these incredible mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don't have the recipe, but they involve cream cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese and a bit of cheddar.

  • Mac & Cheese is always my favorite. Last year or maybe 2 years ago, I got a recipe from a fellow NBCer for Sweet Potato Souffle that was amazing. I will definitely be making it again.

  • All of it. Haha it's hard to decide. I always look forward to my grandmother's apple pie, which is the only apple pie anyone in my family will eat. She also makes the best turkey and mac and cheese. We usually have broccoli salad for lunch because it's light but filling and even that tastes wonderful. My grandmother is like a kitchen goddess.

  • S/O:  Does anyone have a delicious lasagna recipe that does not include egg?  I think Wes would really like lasagna, but when I Google eggless lasagna, it's usually includes other ingredient replacers.  I want a more "real" recipe if you KWIM.

  • I make pumpkin swirl cheesecake bites, and those are my favorites!
I use crushed gluten free gingersnaps and arrowroot powder in place of the flour.

I love most Thanksgiving foods.  This is the first year in a while that we are doing traditional foods rather than Ravioli, so I'm excited.  I like Ravioli, but converting the recipe to gluten free has been a chore.

@SnShne322‌ I have a slow cooker one that I'm pretty sure doesn't have eggs. It's another "paper" recipe. Let me see if I can find it.

  • Mashed potatoes and yeast rolls.

If you were to do a food pyramid of my Thanksgiving plate it would 95% mashed potatoes and yeast rolls, and 5% turkey etc.

I don't have one, but a coworker keeps telling me she's going to bring hers in.

I actually received an email from my library today with their new books for the week and one was an allergy friendly cookbook.  We'll see what that has to offer!

  • Also, s/o @booneybear‌'s bourbon, the only year my family has had alcohol served during Thanksgiving was when I hosted. I think my grandmother was appalled at how much alcohol was consumed and has never "let" me host again lol

My ILs always have booze, but I think we've only done Thanksgiving with them once because my family's food is so much better.

  • My "famous" Island Sweet Potatoes (Mashed sweet potatoes with coconut milk and pineapple.) I make them every year. Sadly, this year we are going to a football game and won't be at the family dinner. I might make them and eat them with leftovers, anyway.
