For anyone who missed the precursor, DH and I met from his football background at RMU and my clinical background there as an Athletic Trainer. We then got engaged at his Senior Recognition game in front of thousands of fans and teammates. So rightfully so, we got married on the 50 yard line at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.
I'm not sure when I thought the idea of a turf football field in July was a great idea, but we did it and survived. It was a 100* day in July 2012 and other than it being so hot, I would do it all over again, exactly the same way. Because it was so hot, we actually made the news in a segment about record breaking heat. We had around 120 guests which was perfect for us, as we didn't feel overwhelmed or like anyone missed the party.
My mom, sister, and I did as much DIY as we could, because that stuff is fun for us. We handmade invitations, programs (which doubled as fans), children's activity books, buffet signs for the candy and food buffet, centerpieces, decorations for both ceremony and reception venues, the bridemaids bouquets, and sparkler send off sleeves for the end of the night. I'm sure there was more that I can't think of right now.

Our colors were teal and black with accents in silver. We had our reception at a lodge at a park, similar to what I had always envisioned as a log cabin reception. The food was delicious, the drinks were cold and plentiful, and we partied the night away in Jersey style (where DH is from) with hints of his Portuguese tradition mixed in. We had an absolute blast!
**Let me know if I forgot any pics and I'll try to add them mobile from work. I don't seem to have a food picture though. Sorry
