  My last formal class to teach is on Tuesday (we have projects, a guest speaker, and site visits after that plus the final exam), and I am so glad! I don't think I'm cut out to be an academic. I prefer doing history in the museum than teaching it to others. 

  
  

  Teaching is hard. I bow down to those of you who do it well. I firmly believe that those who CAN DO, teach. You all are amazing.

  The fact that it has been cold this week makes me want to run out and buy all the things that are winter related.  Lots of boots, sweater dresses, fun jackets, hats etc.

  I live in Texas so that would be dumb.

  I wish the cold would last!

  My neighbor has a dog that barks all.night.long. All night. 1 am, 3 am, nonstop, and he never brings it in, or at least it hasn't gotten cold enough here for him to. No matter how much we complain to him about her barking, he acts all apologetic and concerned but doesn't change it. Well the darn dog escaped the fence today and was running around in the road. It was really early and I was in pjs and it was freezing outside.

  
  

  I'm a nice person and chased the dog all over in the cold for over twenty minutes before finally getting her back in her fence.

  
  

  But I confess that I did fantasize (while she escaped me AGAIN) about just letting her run away. I felt bad about it because they have a young kid that would be heartbroken, I'm sure. But it was freezing and she wouldn't just COME HERE.

  
  

  Oh, and that jerk was home the whole time! I knocked on his door to tell him the dog was loose twice before chasing her and he didn't come outside until I was putting her back in the fence. RAGE.

  
  

  TL;DR I sometimes have mean thoughts while helping others.
