NMMR: PCOS

I am not sure who exactly it was, but I believe there is someone else on this board that is following a PCOS diet. Can you share what that diet entails with me? That is one the thing I do know that needs to get fixed, I have PCOS.

Re: NMMR: PCOS

  • I have PCOS and did the diet in order to get pregnant without treatment.  Here's a link to a post I made in the Getting Pregnant board about what it all entails.

The one thing I did differently after posting this was that I went 100% gluten free on March 1st.  I went from no cycles and them needing to be started with Provera from the doctor, to having 3 30 day cycles in a row.
The diet is strict, but it is so worth it!

  • Thank you so much! So the diet worked really well for you?

  • It did.  I did everything that's listed there starting January 1st and had a 50 day cycle.  Then March 1st I went 100% gluten free and got really strict with it.  March, April, and May were all "normal" cycles and we got pregnant in May.

Before this, we had done a cycle of Clomid and had gotten pregnant but lost the baby.  My H wasn't for doing another round of treatment and we didn't have coverage for infertility on our insurance.  So everything was out of pocket and we couldn't afford to move forward.  So we agreed that we would focus on getting debt free so we could afford to move forward and in the meantime I would try the things I had been reading about (the diet being one of them).
