Monday Accountability

1. How MM was your weekend?

2. Any progress towards goals?

3. Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider?

Re: Monday Accountability

  • 1. H and I probably spent about $100 on things we needed for ourselves and the house

    2. $500 to mortgage principle and $96 to house down payment fund

    3. Egg nog lover here!!!

  • 1. Weekend was good. I actually made some money at the craft fair, and we spent $25 ordering pizza Saturday. Sunday I did a quick grocery run and spent $50. Other than that we stayed in!
    2. Nope. Although we got the tax bill for the new house and it is just on the lot value because the house wasn't built until the end of August. We were told to expect that but you never know.
    3. Hmmm... Apple cider for thanksgiving, but hot cocoa for Christmas. We always used to go see lights after Christmas eve service and then go into the local truck stop that never closed for hot cocoa and a cookie or pie, whatever they had that night.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Great!  Spent $25 on groceries and that was it.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Still cash flowing the remodeling project.  We had the HVAC guy come over to give us an estimate on running duct work to the room.  He ended up chatting with H and FIL about what he recommends and they decided that they could do the work themselves.  We just needed to order the parts through him since the duct work is going into a cold space and needs to be insulated.  That easily saved us $200 in labor. We got the parts from him Friday.

    3. Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider?

Probably Hot cocoa.  Although I'm a total coffee or tea drinker.

Saturday-$15 beer for my sister as repayment for an Uber ride and T-rides

Sunday-$33 return bus ticket, $75 groceries

    2. Any progress towards goals?

none, though H has been cleared for OT through Christmas

    3. Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider?

    Hot Cocoa, every time.

    1. How MM was your weekend? It was alright- groceries ($172), Target ($137)

    2. Any progress towards goals? $500 into savings this weekend. We also met with our financial adviser- status quo for now and we'll reevaluate once our taxes are done in February. We will be having our sewer line replaced in a few weeks for $8,200. I opened up a credit card this weekend with 0% for 15 months so it'll be nice to put it on the card and make monthly payments instead of taking the money out of savings. The card also offers $100 credit and amazon prime for 1 year for free (nice little bonus).

    3. Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider? Hot cocoa for sure.

Eh so-so.  We purchased a couple of space heaters for the house and also for H's office.  They weren't cheap, but they work GREAT and should enable us to lower our thermostat so we don't freeze at night.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

H's federal student loans went into effect, and so we made our first payment on that.  It was actually a bit less than I was expecting, which was a happy surprise.

    3. Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider?

Fall: apple cider.  Christmas season: egg nog.  The rest of the winter: Hot cocoa.  I love all three!

Great!  Just groceries.  Stayed $15 under weekly grocery budget, despite buying a 20 lb turkey for Thanksgiving.  That is a win!!!

    2. Any progress towards goals?
    Not this week.

    3. Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider?
    Apple Cider

  • 1 - we were out of town for the weekend in Oklahoma visiting DH's dad and new wife, so I didn't exactly keep totals of everything.

    2 - $200 into savings

    3 - Hot cocoa

  • 1.  Good!  I spent some budgeted money on Christmas presents, and we bought a little beer, but no overages.  Today is less MM since we are paying cash for our new boiler, but I still feel good about that decision.

    2.  Continued contributions of $100/paycheck to our e-fund, $25/paycheck to our home repair fund.

    3.  Apple cider through December 15, then eggnog but in small doses only!
  • 1. H spent $17 on alcohol with his buddies. I spent $18 on candy, dasani, feminine products and nyquil. Another $15 on a new phone charger. Not bad.

    2. $1,200 towards school next semester. $400 to go!

    3. Cocoa by far.

  • 1) $10 on take out on Friday, $60 on lunch- we treated 2 friends that drove a distance to visit, $20 on beer for said friends, $0 on Sunday.

    2) really well this week because I finally got my paid vacation hours for my last job that I quit last month. Got paid 37 days of vacation. Woo! All going into baby savings for now.

    3) I LOVE eggnog but I tire of it after a few weeks and I can't have a lot of it at a time without feeling completely unhealthy. Cider I can drink at any time.

  • 1) Pretty good! Friday night was date night. We saw Interstellar in Imax--pricey but fun. Saturday I did a big grocery trip, but not too bad considering all the things.
    .
    2) More in savings:)

    3) I am with Hoffse on this. I love all three. Cider is sooooo good all fall & winter long. I love hot cocoa after a day of skiing or while reading a good book. I'm a big eggnog fan, but aside from using it as coffee creamer I don't drink it on a regular basis because it is so heavy.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  Not good, did dad/son night out on Friday which ended up being $45, Saturday was even worse, spent about $160 total on Saturday including getting some new curtain rods for the master bedroom.  MW had to calm me down though since all of the curtains are now 84" long in the stores that I was looking in.

    2. Any progress towards goals?  Nope, should be able to pay off my credit card once the bill comes in.

    3. Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider?  I love apple cider.  After being outside playing in the snow, hot chocolate is the best.  I love my friend's Egg Nog which is made the old fashion way and you don't want to get flames near it.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

We spent much of the weekend painting so not too bad just basically groceries (where i got a 20lb turkey for 9 dollars... we're saving it for christmas. And i earned my 20 dollars off groceries coupon.

Ofcourse my husband spilled a bunch of blue paint on our white carpets. I scrubbed as much as i could but its still blue. And theres a few drip marks too.  Its really bad. we are going to try the carpet cleaner because we really cant afford to be replacing carpets. Maybe i can buy some sort of small throw rug to cover it up. idk.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

NMMR but the good thing is most of the nursery is painted. Still have to paint on some green is all.

    3. Hot Cocoa, Egg Nog, or Apple Cider?

Hot Apple Cider... Hot Cocoa is good too. I hate egg nog tho.

For the carpets, try distilled white vinegar or nail polish remover (have your husband do that so you don't breathe in the fumes). Make sure to dab, not rub the stain into the carpet. GL!
