GTKY: H and I, and the Wedding
We met in High School gym class when I was a Freshman and he was a Junior. We started dating a year later, because he had a nice car and I felt bad that he was 18 and had never been kissed. The intentions were to kiss him, go to prom, and probably break up after the summer. Almost 11 years later, here we are. We both went to college in Chicago (different schools), then moved back to H’s hometown after graduating from college. That’s where we bought our Victorian home and started remodeling it. After 3 years of living in sin, we finally tied the knot on August 18th, 2012.
Our wedding was everything I wanted, plus some. We got married in the church I grew up in, then had the reception in a casino ballroom. Normally it is 90+ degrees at that time in August, but it was a fluke 75 and sunny that day and it made me regret not having an outdoors ceremony.
Here's a few pics. Our colors were purple and orange. My bouquet was made out of broaches from loved ones, and we even made a stop off for a few pics in a corn field on the way to the reception.
We left the Monday after for Dominican Republic for our honeymoon. Where we swam with the stingrays and sharks during hurricane Isaac. We just thought the water was rough normally.
