Happy (early) Friday!

What are you reading? Is it for one of the challenges? Just for fun, do you use your local library?

  • I'm reading Mere Christianity and Keeper of the Light.  The 2nd mostly b/c I'm waiting on holds to come in from the library -- 2 show in transit and I'm #1 on the ebook wait list for 2 additional books, so I grabbed it off of a shelf of books I've acquired at thrift stores.

So, yes, I use my library for 99% of the books I read.  I only buy books if I can't get them in time for book club, if the library doesn't have it and I'm dying to read it, or if it's a kindle deal and you guys highly recommend it.  I was bored recently and went checked my TBR list with my library and made lists of everything my library has.  I think the library has 85% of the books I want to read!

  • I really should utilize the library more.  I typically only ready books once so it would save a ton of money.

I'm a book hoarder though and hate waiting for something I want to read to become available SO...no.  Amazon gets all of my money.

Right now I'm reading Envy by Sandra Brown.  Next up is The Martian.

  • I'm reading Witches in Flight, it is #123 of the year and it's great so far.

I'm also listening to Bone Season, it is # 124 and I love it. I hope I can meet my goal of 125 for the year.

I do use my library on a regular basis but I still buy a ton of books.

  • I'm reading Everything I Never Told you by Celeste Ng.

    #137 for the year.

I use the library exclusively.  I'm there at least once a week.  They know me so well that if I don't have anything on hold to pick up, they think there is something wrong with their computer system.  :)

  • I started The Dream Thieves, but haven't had a whole lot of time to actually read this week.
    75 Books in 2015?

  • I am reading

The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes and The Wild Blue: The Men Who Flew the B-24's Over Germany 1944-45 by Stephen Ambrose.

I am not too far into either of them but I think I am going to enjoy the Shining Girls.

  • I just finished Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon. It was #130 for the year. Not a bad book, but not amazing either. I saw some reviews on GR, claiming that it was a Twilight rip-off. I didn't really see that. Maybe here and there with the love story, but it didn't bother me.

I do use the local library, but mostly for e-books. I try to always check to see if the library has the book I'm interested in, and then buy it if they don't.

  • This week I started and finished Cruel Beauty, and I found it too creepy for me. I don't care for shadow demon stuff.

I started Throne of Glass yesterday, and I am loving it!

  • I just finished 14 by Peter Clines this morning on my way to work. I'm reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo and will finish that today as well. Next up is Blue Lily, Lily Blue

I use the library for about 90% of what I read. But, I do have a stash of cheap ebooks on my Kindle if I'm between holds. I also take my son every Saturday for baby story time.

  • I'm more than halfway through The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, but I think most of my reading this weekend will be devoted to the final projects I need to grade. The exam is on Monday and I'd like to tackle those with a clean slate and be able to give back the graded projects at the end of the exam since I won't see them next semester. They had to come up with a museum exhibit proposal and present it to the class. There were some really creative proposals, too! It was very entertaining to see what interests people.

I adore the library. I'm on a first name basis with the research librarians and the city library's main branch circulation employees knew me before the year long renovation they just completed. It's time to get reacquainted. I also love library eBooks, esp. if its a large book. So much more portable.

  • Half way through Blue Lily, Lily Blue.  It's taken me a while to get through it, but I will finish it by tomorrow, I have a pile of books waiting to be read.  Reading just for fun.

Love my local library, I go there all the time.

  • I am about to start HP and the Half-Blood Prince. After I finish binge watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix of course.

Not to borrow. I go to the local library book sales to buy used books, but their e-book selection sucks and TBH so does their paper book selection. Plus if I like a book I have to own it anyway.

I'm reading Seventh Grave and No Body- this series is amazing- I laugh, I cry, I blush through every book!

I'm listening to Blue Lily, Lily Blue.  I read it a few weeks ago but I am loving reliving it in audio.

And I frequent my local library.  I used to be a clerk there and stop in almost weekly- it was such a great place to work.  Plus I hit the one near work too but not as often.
