Christmas Shopping

How many of you mostly shop online?  Any good tips?  I usually don't do any shopping online but this job and my 2 hour commute leave me with not a lot of time for shopping outside of weekends.

Re: Christmas Shopping

  • I've bought some stuff online.  My tip is to order as early as possible or see if they can ensure delivery by a certain date.  I always get a tracking number is possible.

  • I do all of my shopping on Amazon. This is especially helpful living away from family as I can have the items gift wrapped and shipped directly to the people.

  • I did a lot of online shopping during black Friday. I stuck with Old Navy, Kohls and JCPenney. I usual go to is Amazon, i pay for the prime membership so if the item is eligible it gets delivered in 2 days. Ditto @WillyH19 about sending gifts too, i had a gift sent to Maryland:)

  • I also do most of my shopping online because of having limited free time.  We did a lot of shopping at Toys R Us and got everything pretty quickly.  If you're going to go that route for Christmas shopping, I'd start asap!  Stores and shipping companies get backed up and even if they guarantee a delivery date, it's still not 100% guaranteed.  Learned that the hard way.

  • Thanks!!  I am on it right now!!

Good call on the shipping.  My dad was a UPS delivery driver for 35 years (!!!) and Christmas is hell time for them.  (PLEASE be nice to your UPS guy, they work so so so hard this time of year and their families miss them!)

  • I do a good bit of online shopping for the holidays. But I'm agreeing with some prior posts--make sure you know when it's shipping. Don't want to cut it too close with stuff arriving.

  • Also use ebates you get cash back from certain retailers just by coming through ebates link.

  • I second using Ebates! It's not always a lot of cash back, but if you do a lot of online shopping, suddenly you're getting back $20+ just for doing what you'd normally do. Shameless plug, you can also refer friends for bonuses... : http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=iFAZ7aZR5OTM1mud4/LBWw==&eeid=26471
  • I do a lot of online shopping and I use ebates too. I got about $50 back last year. If anyone needs a referral let me know.
