DH got a disbursement from the family partnership (they own a lot of land) and all I could think about when I saw the numbers on the check was "Yeay! This means we can have fun on our cruise in January and also not have to move in with my parents in June!" His first thought was "Let's invest it." I love my parents to death, and, yes, it would be nice to save up money to actually buy a place to live, but living with my parents is going to be like being in high school all over again.
