My little tank of a car that has safely shuttled me to and from work over three straight days of snow and ice. No such thing as a snow day when you work in a hospital. :P

I am incredibly thankful for the wonderful memories that I have of my grandfather. It was extremely comforting to look at old family pictures and spend time with my mom, grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousins over the past few days. I'm so grateful that H could fly in and be with me from Sat-Wed.

I'm also incredibly grateful for the outpouring of kindness shown to my family. Most of the staff at the nursing home was wonderful as was the staff at the funeral home. They made sure that my grandfather's wishes were carried out. My mother's house was flooded with comfort food from our wonderful friends. I am so thankful for all of the kind words from all of my fellow Oct 2012 Nesties!

Finally, I am thankful for the soldiers who stood at attention outside the church in the freezing cold the day of my grandfather's funeral. My grandfather was in the army in the 1950s and 1960s, so he had military honors at the funeral. The respect those soldiers showed to my grandfather will never be forgotten.

I'm thankful that I only have 1 more full week until Christmas break. I miss being with O all day long and can't wait to have that time back.

I'm thankful that we are finally moving forward with our second wood stove installation. The one we have in the basement doesn't heat the upstairs very well and I hate relying on propane for heat. I'm double thankful that my mom is giving us her barely used wood stove so we are able to save some money!

My grandma was a nurse and she used to get up early on snowy days so she could be at her shift early enough to take calls from other nurses who were supposed to show up but were "snowed in." That is some serious trolling! lol

I'm thankful for our little apartment. This is our 3rd Christmas there and I love how it looks all lit up and decorated. Our lease is up in April and we're moving so I'm soaking up the Christmas memories there while I can! I know I'm going to be so emotional leaving our first place we ever lived together

I'm thankful that the hospital my mom is at seems to be taking care of her for the most part. The staff has been friendly to me and I think the only complication she's had so far is an irritation to the bed sheets. They're gradually working on getting her walking again.

I'm thankful for my mom and dad. They are just so awesome.

I'm also thankful for the amazing deal we just found at the Four Hands Furniture Outlet. If you've never heard of them or priced their furniture, they are incredibly expensive and we wouldn't buy from them. We just found a $2600 dresser for $395! It's perfect for the nursery!! So so so excited!

Also I'm thankful for all the pictures, texts and phone calls my mom gives me throughout the day. And that I took random videos of E. I watch/look at them every chance I get. Also thankful she's not having her cranky moods in the evening so I get some good time with her when I get home. And that I'm off tomorrow so I have 3 days with her. CAN'T WAIT!
