Re: QOTD 12/12

  • I have a plant in my office, his name is Herb.  I forget what kind of plant he is but it's the kind that rarely needs water or light (I got him in Michigan) so it works for me.

  • We have one. It's bamboo. I water it weekly. It's been alive for almost 4 years. I've killed every other houseplant. Even the un-killable houseplant, MIL's tongue...

  • We currently have 9 plants that have not died yet!  There's an avocado tree that D grew from seed, some tropical plant his grandma gave him, an aloe vera plant, 2 orchids, rosemary, 2 leeks and a heart plant.

I don't really enjoy having house plants but D does.

  • I have two small house plants that are barely hanging on.  They are downstairs in a room that I'm never in so I tend to forget about them.  I think my mom has been watering them, but not 100% sure.

  • I have three plants, one needs to be transferred to a bigger pot and i usually forget to water it. I also have a mini cactus and then another small potted plant that doesn't need frequent watering so it has managed to survive.

  • I had a bunch... Most died while I was pregnant. I've still got 1 money tree, a peace Lilly, the plant that blooms during Christmas, and a cactus.

  • Nope. Had an aloe plant that died. And we also rescued a poinsettia at work. That also died.

  • Nope. I kill everything. Bamboo, cactus, the fern. Everything dies.

    That's me.
  • Currently the just a few succulents in our bathroom and our Christmas tree. We have a ton of plants outside though. ;)

  • I have one in the house that I just didn't get planted. It's don't pretty well. I also have an orchid. Prior to these two I killed everything else.
  • No house plants, but we do have a deck garden in the summer. I'm pretty good at keeping it alive :)

  • I have a plant in my office that's doing pretty well. At home, though? Nothing. The cats will dig up, knock down, or devour any plant I try to bring in, so I've given up.

This is one thing I don't miss about having cats.  One time, I decided I wanted to make a beautiful terrarium for my coffee table.  It looked so pretty and perfect there and I was so excited.  I went to bed and the next morning when I walked into the living room, the succulents had been completely torn apart and scattered on the floor along with tons of soil all over the coffee table and rug.  I was sooooo mad!

  • We have a Christmas cactus. H takes care of it. He has a couple of trees outside (a norfolk pine and a sago palm), but they were houseplants when they were smaller. I would kill them if I had to be in charge of them.
