Throat Punch Tuesday

Yes I know these are typically on Thursdays and we don't usually do them but I have plenty today and I just need to vent. Sorry for being a whiny baby right now.

Throat punch to DH for opening/investigating every Christmas package I ordered for him. He's home during the day and for some reason decided to open the package today instead of just ask me about it. He literally knows every Christmas gift.

TP to the construction workers a few blocks over who hit our water main not once, but twice yesterday, and hit the electric lines today. Who needs modern amenities!

TP to my team at work who can't follow basic directions. I spent hours fixing their shit today even after giving them written directions to reference. I just don't get it.

TP to my supervisor who ignored my questions yesterday and today. We have an online chat system, I can see that you're there and available. That's why I message you. Just answer the damn question.

I may have more but venting those ones will do for now.

Anyone have anything good?

Re: Throat Punch Tuesday

  • Ok I lied about being done. Got hit with another one on my way out of my office.

TP to our janitor who asks me every single time he sees me (at least 3 times a week) if I'm having a boy and when I'm due. I don't expect him to remember, however today he added on that I should start watching my weight and what I'm eating. I'm sorry, did you seriously just say that??
  • Wow! It sounds like your day has been pretty crappy!
I'm sorry you are having so many work issues and your DH is being a snoop! As for your janitor, don't even listen to him. You look great and as long as you are healthy and baby is healthy then you have nothing to worry about.

The janitor. Omg, I would just die. Watch my weight? What a fantastic idea. In 30 years as a woman, my weight has never once crossed my mind... Thank you so much for your brilliant insight!

  • That janitor is a moron. Does he know NOTHING about women? Especially pregnant ones? Wow.

And, only because DH dealt with this last week, try to give the poor construction workers a break, as difficult as that is when you're dealing with power and water being out! H was on a job site overnight last week, and one of the nights it took the crew twice as long as slated (8 hours instead of 4) to do that night's work because they hit UNMARKED utilities 4 times. Someone was a dumbass about properly marking the utilities; TP that person, not the guys who get stuck with the shitstorm that ensues because of said person's oversight.

  • Thanks for commiserating, ladies. I appreciate your support, even if it's just listening to me whine.

The janitor has had a few run ins with employees in our office, including asking a not pregnant, not even really overweight woman if she was pregnant. I think it kind of comes with the area where we work as being slightly rude and forward seems to be the norm. Still no excuse, but more common than I'd like.

@LuckyAngel07‌ - I think my frustration more comes from the lack of communication with the whole process. The crew never notified anyone that they were closing the road and apparently didn't notify the utility companies whenever the issues occurred. Even the utility companies were difficult to get info from. I definitely feel for your DH because I'm sure he takes a lot of heat being on that end of any issues.
