GTKY

I've been a lurker until now, and I thought this would be a good opportunity to be more involved! DH & I We are both 26 (DH is a few months older), we've been together a little more than 6 years and we've been married for 6 months. This time includes 2 years of college and 1.5 years long distance. We met at a party at the start of our junior year. I approached him and the night ended with him asking if he could make me dinner some time. He made me pasta dinner the night before my first cross country race and has made me pasta dinner before every race since then (both collegiate and post- that's well over 100 times)! We are very different from each other. He has a math brain and loves cooking. I like reading (mostly fantasy, chic lit and historical fiction) and am thankful for microwaves. We do both enjoy running and hiking though! Currently, we live in an apartment in the city (which I love) though we are starting to get the itch for a house and a yard. We'll likely move in about a year or so. ABOUT ME I am a runner. I ran cross country and track in high school and college and I've been running road races since then, including 5 marathons. My relationship with running is love/hate, but mostly love. I've always wanted to be crafty, but it does not come naturally. I do have successes sometimes though! I also love hard candy (sprees, neccos, tootsie roll pops, you name it!) My guilty pleasure is watching lifetime movies while crafting (or snacking, hehe). I know they're awful, but I just get the itch for them sometimes! TTC PLAN I've been ready for a baby since forever. It might sound weird, but ever since I turned 25 it became more of a physical thing. Sometimes when I see babies, I can't think about doing anything besides reading everything I can about conceiving, pregnancy and childbirth (hence how I found my way to this discussion board). DH thinks I'm a nut for it, but there have been signs he's coming around more and more lately. He sometimes says things like "when we have kids..." or "do you think our kids will..." Every once in a while he'll purposefully bring my attention to babies or pregnant women, and my heart just soars. I can't wait for our turn! While I know things may not go as planned, we are going to start trying in August. DH is taking the last CFA exam in June and we are going to Europe for a week after that. Then our before baby bucket list will be checked off! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

  • Thanks! @MRads‌, We are in Chicago. @FutureMrsWright2012‌, I love the Chicago marathon because the spectators are amazing. Boston is also very cool! @aggiebug‌, it is so hard to pick a favorite book of all time! I will love the HP books forever. More recently, I've really enjoyed Gone Girl and Unbroken. I saw the author of Gone Girl speak last year. What about you?
  • @FairyTale88‌ awesome! I too have a hard time choosing! My all time favorite is y Great Expectations. This year is between The Golem and the Jenni and Fall of Giants.
