Soooooo 2015 on NBC

Are we still going to do a yearly spreadsheet or did enough people drop out that it's no longer justified?
Are we still using #nbcbooksof2015?
Can we do goal buttons, @jackiback?
What can we do to rev things up around here?

  • Oh and anyone want to do a genre challenge?

  • I hope we do the spreadsheet. The nerd in me loves it so!

  • I will try harder to update the spreadsheet with my books if we do one. We are talking about THAT spreadsheet, right?

  • Last year was such a slow reading year for me, I need something to get motivated again. I miss the monthly discussions and we had a pretty regular group for the paranormal romance and urban fantasy monthly books, I just have so many open/unfinished series now that I hate starting new ones! I would start posting that again if anyone was interested though to get things moving again.

  • I should be posting more. I was kind of MIA for a while because I was busy with so much and was barely reading anything. I love the spreadsheet.

  • Julie I like your idea about going back to monthly reads. I found myself reading new books I wouldn't have picked up in doing the montly reads and in buddy reads. I am also a spreadsheet nerd and love to update my books after I read them :)

  • Yes to monthly reads!!!! I miss this so much.

  • I miss monthly reads too, but I know I'd participate more if they're books that are getting buzz and I'm already looking forward to reading like you suggested, Julie. For instance, I'd love to discuss something like Bad Feminist.

  • I really enjoyed the buddy reads and the reading lottery, I would be on board to do those again!

  • I liked the PNR challenge. Most of the times I'd already read the book, but I could at least discuss it.
And the buddy reads. I never would have read Daughter of Smoke and Bone otherwise.
  • I love the spreadsheet. I've not done a buddy read or a PNR challenge, but would love to. Monthly reads sound interesting too.

  • I'd love to do the monthly reads. @hoycie and I were talking about doing the Rory Gilmore Book Challenge, but just reading 12 books that are on the list, not all 339 obviously.

I love @j&p's suggestion of Bad Feminist. I've been looking forward to reading that one for awhile.

I barely read anything during those last few months of 2014, I'm looking at getting back into reading more. A lot of the ideas sound good to me, I really liked the reading lottery.

  • Last year was a total reading slump for me. I'd be up for the monthly reads, and really whatever else I can participate in to get me back to reading more.

Although I doubt I could even get through 12 of her books. She's wayyyy smarter than I am :)

  • I had posted awhile back about a reading lottery but then never actually did it. I would be interested in doing that again but am not sure how to start it.
