Critique Aria's Nursery

I just wanted to share with you guys what I am trying to put together for Aria's nursery.  I think I'm going in a good direction, but just need second opinions.  The overall color scheme is pink, grey, and white with accents/pops of purple (to tie into the rug).

We already ordered the rug and the crib will be a metallic silver (matte, not shiny).  We also have the dresser in the top of the picture, but that's the one piece I'm a little unsure about (I can use it in our master bedroom as well).  Should I go with a white dresser instead or do you think the wood color one will be ok (it has pewter color hardware and a pewter color top)?

The layout is of the actual room and everything is to scale.

  • And just to further break it down:

I will be making the canopy thing for above her crib, the crib skirt will be like the one in the crib picture, but pink, and I'm also making some rail guards like the one pictured by the crib.

  • It's so beautiful!  I love the wood dresser as it's own piece, but I do think white would look good with the color scheme you have going on.  But if you don't want to buy the white, then I think the fact that the hardware and top are pewter ties in the gray enough that it will still fit in.

I can't wait to see the real pics when it's done!

  • I love it. I actually like leaving the dresser as is because it will break it up a little.

  • I think if you have the hamper, chair and dresser in the brown/wood tones it ties in together.

  • Well, the chair in the picture with the curtains isn't something I would be getting.  That was to show the type of curtains I'd like to get.  So, it would just be the hamper and the dresser in those tones.  And the hamper comes in white too.

  • I think it's all gorgeous! I think it would look best in white, but still beautiful in the natural wood. It's a really pretty dresser!

  • I would leave the dresser in the wood.  The wood would act like a neutral piece bringing together all of the other finishes and colors.
  • I like the white and the wood dressers! But I would go with the wood because it is more classic and aria could use it into adulthood.
